Personally, I really liked the Yangoul leader you have to kill for the White Tiger dailies named Shonuff. The Last Dragon reference and what he says when he dies made me smile. Haven't seen that movie in ages. : )

Any of you explorers find the in-game reference to something that happened in the Mists of Pandaria trailer?

The town that you see looks very much like Pawndon village or whatever it's called.
There's an escort quest in Krasarang Wilds and one of the NPCs "took an arrow in the knee", which gave me a chuckle.

I wish MoP didn't take all my time so I could return to playing Skyrim. :(
While flying over Tiger's Woods, I wondered if somewhere there was a Pete's Rose.
I love this thread! Tagging it for later.
An achievement spot for those that don't know is the Shrine of Fellowship 32/33 (this is where the walkway starts to the top) keep an eye out for anything clickable.

Something else notable about this spot is the NPC that resides there, Sam the Wise. This is a reference to Lord of the Rings, Samwise Gamgee and the Fellowship of the Ring

edit:

Not only that, I was exploring that area late at night a few weeks ago for the first time, when I tabbed out to check a message on Facebook. I noticed Samwise was drunkenly posting music videos all over the Sons of the Storm FB feed. As I tabbed back into the game, I walked across a bridge and there standing before me was Sam the Wise, the Metal Brewmaster! Life was suddenly imitating art!

OMG we got a two-fer reference!
Actually it is a reference to Sam "Samwise" Didier http://www.wowpedia.org/Samwise_Didier who is well known for his art depicting Pandarens.
I noticed the krassarang ones, tiger blood and the arrow to the knee guy gave me a chuckle. I didn't know about the Jade Forest trailer one, so i'll have to backtrack and try to find it.

One thing I wanted to mention that I'm not sure if people have noticed but there is a lot of "treasure chests" in MoP. I've randomly explored little caves and upstairs in buildings and they have little clickable chests that contain grey's and gold. Totally fun and stupid but remind me of when I use to explore RPG games and check every little nook before moving on with the story. Actually a few of them give a decent amount of gold so maybe not that stupid ;)

I've heard if you start killing the frogs on the island of frogs in the wilds, a named one will come up and instantly kill you, with a spell called "frog justice" or something similar.

I suddenly feel privy to an inside joke... I will have to ask a Blizzard friend of mine.
Awesome thread, thank you all for shareing.

I had seen some of these and not others, bookmarking for later use.

Thanks again.
I don't know about anyone else, but when I first realized that the Panda starting zone is on top of the back of a giant turtle, this went through my head:

"See the TURTLE of enormous girth!
On his shell he holds the earth.
His thought is slow but always kind;
He holds us all within his mind.
On his back all vows are made;
He sees the truth but mayn't aid.
He loves the land and loves the sea,
And even loves a child like me."

It's from the Dark Tower series/mythos.

Nice. It's also found in IT, which is an amazing book that everyone should read.
The street fighter Lun Chi. Chun Li was one of my favorites when I'd play the game.
This is something I couldn't check but there's a guy in Nesingwary Camp who says "If you faught a Yeti in only a loincloth and using just a Bowie Knife, you would get the lucky title too"

I have wondered if that works.

Yea I know who Samwise Didier is, BUT the fact that Sam the Wise is placed in the Shrine of Fellowship leads me to believe it is a double reference both to Didier and Samwise from LOTR
My wife came across this one the other day. There is a pandaren named "Adele" that is rolling around in an area called "The Widening Deep", in Townlong.

Not sure if anyone else has encountered this but I found a cute but extremely tough pug called none other then..... Crithto running around the cobble stone streets of Stormwind. I attempted to take on said pug, he dispatched of me fairly quickly being level 91elite and all.

I saw that little guy running all around SW all the time before MoP. When I went to do the quest to go to Pandaria I noticed he was targetable and clicked on him without thinking... one shot by a pug... not my finest moment >.< My hope is he's around next time the horde come to kill the king... reckon he'll give them all a run for their money :-D

My husband found this! We were so excited!! Yall did amazing with this continent!
Someone just posted this and I thought it was funny and relevant.

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7004450673

It's a video of easter eggs in the old content!
This is probably not quite an Easter Egg but maybe something you miss.

In quest Justice after you kill the big gnoll, he drops a Bill of Goods Sold.

If you read it the text goes:

Darkmoon Faire Bill of Sale
6x Super Effective Gnoll Decoys*
60g etc

*Effectiveness of Super-effective Gnoll Decoy may depend on intelligence of opponent. Not warrented for Humanoids, Dragonkin, or other semi-sentient creatures.

Way too funny!
