Same error here, I have power cycled my modem, router and PC; and performed an IP release, renew, flush DNS on both the PC and the router. Any help?
I did everything and still not working

Try the steps mentioned in this article: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/deleting-the-battlenet-cache-folder-pc?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=support_forums&utm_campaign=BlizzardCS

Once that is done, try the game again.

Let me know what happens.

1. Go into your World of Warcraft folder and delete the WTF, Cache, and Interface.
2. Go into the World of Warcraft/Data folder and delete the Cache folder.

Once that is done, restart the game through the launcher.

If that the last suggestion doesn't help, try this:

1. Make sure that Windows is set to show hidden files.

Here's how to do that: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files

2. Navigate to the C:\ProgramData folder and delete the Battle.net folder.
3. Navigate to the WoW folder and delete the "Updates" folder.
4. Launch WoW.

Let me know what happens.

I did this, turned my router off and on, then rebooted my computer and it fixed the problem. All in that order.

I tried this and now I get the message An unexpected error occurred while updating required files. Please try again.
I've tried restoring all the files that you told me to delete but I still get the error.

What security programs do you have installed?

I have Norton Constant Guard through Comcast Xfinity

This issue can sometimes be caused by Norton. If you are willing to try, I would uninstall it temporarily to see if that helps. You should use the Norton Removal Tool to ensure Norton is removed properly.

Here's the link for the Norton Removal Tool:
http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&selected_nav=&pvid=&docurl=20080828154508EN

When you click on the link scroll down to Step 2, click on the orange download button and save the download to the desktop. Once saved go ahead and run the program, and follow the on screen steps.

I have tried just abou tevery thing posted on wow and battle.net, nothing has worked. 7 tickets later still nothing, I use McAfee any idea for this one, or a link to remove it please check other tickets for an updated level on this issue. Still Error #2
That did the trick. Thanks!
Having this same error and ive done everything with no luck. Please help! started last night for no reason.
I'm running 64-bit Win 7, and when the new patch (5.1.0a) installed, it installed a new launcher and a new version of the wow program called Wow-64.exe, which the new launcher kept pointing to on my machine, and which seems to have problems.

Try opening your game folder and double-clicking on "wow.exe", and see if the game starts for you. Don't know if this will fix it for you, but I was getting the same error until I did that.
