They remain. If a piece of gear is used as currency for a new piece of gear, upgrades are preserved.

Does this include weapons too? Like if I upgraded my T1 weapon if I got the T2 version later on would it keep the upgrade?

Would like to know this as well

Same. Off-topic whining aside, if upgrades on t1 weps carry to t2, then that is the best use of conquest points; if not, then it is a complete waste of 1500 points. Many of us are sitting on our conquest points until we know the answer to this question.
I'm going to upgrade my T1 weapon after hearing this.

If I happen to get 2200 and find out that upgrades don't carry over, I expect Bashiok to at least send me a cake, if not the 1500 conquest points I wasted (on top of the 2000 points I lost because caps bugged out twice).

me too!
I strongly wish that you could not upgrade weapons. Seems very, very bad.
The crappy part about weapon upgrades is they've screwed over anyone dual wielding. It costs twice as much (again) to be on par with everyone else that uses a 2-handed weapon. They fixed the cost of PURCHASING 1-handed weapons, but the upgrades are still twice the cost of a 2-handed weapon.

If you're a part of the unfortunate group, you purchased your weapons right before the change and got screwed on a refund of 1500 points. I'm pretty sure upgrading right now will also screw us over on any potential Conquest Point reimbursement.
Also wondering about the upgrades for weapons if it'll keep from t1-t2
I got tired of waiting for a response and just upgraded. The t2 weapon on the vendor now displays as upgraded. So don't bother waiting for t2 to save points, just upgrade your t1 weps.

Really? need more to confirm this pls, No offense I'd like more to confirm instead just 1 guy. Too many trolls these days. (including blizz patch of mess)
I got confirmation that if you upgrade t1 weapon and then exchanged it for t2 the upgrades WILL transfer.

You're welcome.

I think we should all be grateful we have something else to do with our conquest now. Jeez, we whine a lot even when we get our way.

.... And this is why Blues rarely post.

Considering how rarely blues post can you blame people? especially considering the mostly terrible ideas that go into effect -_-

This is going to increase the gear gap for newer players, and we honestly do not need this. The fun of PVP is not getting gear, its fighting in 3's with 2 of your friends in a battle of skill and tactics, just give everyone the gear and make it all about skill.

Guild wars 2 tried that, it doesnt work and doesnt keep people wanting to play...
