Old Interactive Flash World Map!

General Discussion
Wow I've been playing since day 1 and I never knew about this thing.

The music is pretty epic lol.

Would it be possible to put thinks like a repair vendor icon or innkeeper icon in the in-game map?

I believe there are some addons that do that. If it were something a lot of people found useful I'm sure we'd considering adding it. We're fine with some options and additions being made available through addons and not as a core feature of the game.

Anyone know a good non-carbonite addon that will overlay world and/or zone maps with NPC locations?

Carbonite. 3000 times more usable than the default UI.

I miss them all the time.

For the color scheme mostly. This orange-brown and off white thing just does not make my eyes happy.

EDIT: Dang, I can't read any of these posts! They keep redirecting back to these forums :/

I really wish they had the old Korgath forums, those were hilarious.

It would be that, if it were fully updated. Sadly, all it seems to do now is cause 0 FPS in shrine of seven stars because it doesn't know where the indoor area is and jumps across the zone 50 times a second.

There is a beta for the latest patch at the main website or at wowinterface.com. I've never had any framerate issues with Carbonite.

I hear that i was trying to look at my old realm forums and can't load any posts :(
This red and orange look was ok for Cataclysm but I was really disappointed to see Blizzard didn't revamp the look of the forum for MOP.

But god those tiny green leaves from the ashenvale background on the classic website make me overwhelmed with nostalgia.
Its still crazy how few flight paths there were back then compared to what we have now. One of the few changes that everyone agreed with.

The old web site and forum layouts were better than what we have now, imo.

I love reading through this.

I always hated Kaplan's attitude and what he did to Everquest but I'll be damned if his endgame philosophy wasn't amazing. Seeing what he's cooking up in Titan is the main reason I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, and don't forget that you had to take off from and land in every single flight path along a route, manually picking which town to land in next. God help you if you wanted to get from EPL to STV.
I wish there was an archive of the old forums from the day it went read only. There used to be one on yg.com but it's now something about youth groups.
In case anyone is interested you can this is the first song on the map

damnit, sad nostalgia lol. Makes me miss that amazing feeling when I first started playing in 2005. I'll never experience that again which sucks.

Track #2 on that map brings back so many memories.
Holy crap! I remember using this for the flight paths and region levels when I first started playing World of Warcraft. Oh, the memories. :)
Ahh I suddenly miss the old forums.

Old forums were definitely better than these. We had the awesome armory too. I want to make poses!!!!!

Interesting. I found those articles to be very cool and think of how much different that philosophy has changed today.
Man, I went to the old WoW homepage... I miss the old site so much. :(

The fact that the current website is extremely limited in both armory features and useful guides, tips, and interviews compared to the old one isn't "nostalgia". It's fact.
