Your pie bias is clearly showing, Tickle. At least attempt a true analysis of the facts presented before jumping on the pie bandwagon. Food does not lie. Ever. Like, shrimp is the most apropos name I know.

My biggest complaint with cake is that it tends to have too much icing. At least with pie I know I'm not going to run into a sweetness overload that makes it unenjoyable.

Also, I do not like cheesecake....flame away.
Pie crust is way better then cake icing.

You haven't lived until you've actually suffered anaphylactic shock brought on by eating 2 pounds of cake frosting. I mean, I've heard.

Lies. The crust indicates pie.

Pie: "a dessert consisting of a filling (as of fruit or custard) in a pastry shell or topped with pastry or both" (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pie).

Cake: "a : a breadlike food made from a dough or batter that is usually fried or baked in small flat shapes and is often unleavened; b : a sweet baked food made from a dough or thick batter usually containing flour and sugar and often shortening, eggs, and a raising agent (as baking powder)" (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cake)

Cheesecake filling is technically a custard, contains no raising agent, and fills either a pastry or graham cracker crust. It is therefore a pie, not a cake. Trust me, I've made plenty of all of the above, unlike SOME people. =P
The rule that in seeking to ascertain intention of legislature in adopting a resolution, the reason and spirit which prompted its action must be consulted and given effect rather than the letter or wording of resolution itself applies only when letter or expression of resolution is dubious. Reeves v. Police Jury of St. Tammany Parish, App. 1 Cir.1947, 29 So.2d 511.

Something something calling cheesecake PIE is dubious, something something and the SPIRIT of the CAKE must be obeyed. IWINIWINWINIWINIWIN. *fingers in ears* CANNOT READ RESPONSE, MY FINGERS ARE IN MY EARS.
I mean, to be fair, would you want to eat it if it were called cheesepie? Sounds suspect and too much like pizza.
