Weaponsmithing Weapons, returning?

Professions
Lionheart Champion, Reborn By making this weapon, you will learn how to create Lionheart Executioner, Reborn. Weapons. 10 sec cast. Reagents: Lightning Steel Ingot (10), Living Steel (6), Spirit of Harmony (6), (Unknown Item).

Just saw this on MMO along with similar spells for the other old Weaponsmithing weapons.

I was a noob back in BC and went Armorsmithing because for whatever reason I had it in my head a uber beast chest piece would be the best thing ever and never get replaced.

Yes I was quite the noob back then, so if this is for real, hooray!!
I was an armorsmith also. If i had known they were dropping the plans i would have switched. Cant wait to make some of the best looking weapons ever.
^^ Indeed
must...see...stats....

::crosses fingers this isnt just xmog BS::
Look at the mats list and you'll see it's (probably) not just transmog stuff.

Total mats for making a Lionheart Executioner, Reborn is 30 Lightning Steel Ingots, 18 Living Steel and 18 Spirit of Harmony.

Really doubt they'd implement fun transmog gear with that level of material requirements. My best guess is that because it requires no raid drops (as of yet), the best we can hope for is a final product equal to 5.2 LFR iLevel stuff.

I'm thinking something in between LFR and Normal - 510-515

That is a significant amount of materials...
Actually I didn't even consider they'd give the item's actual stats. I just assumed it would be transmog stuff, but given the stats it's perfectly feasible to see these items being raid quality epics, on par with normal, below the new super items their putting in.
Just so long as the final product is still BOP I will be happy.

That was kind of the point of the weapons back in TBC, not everyone had them. Should be the same in 5.2.
if they have stats they should be BoE, if they don't they should be BoP.

Either way it disappointing that blizzard refuses to let anything be rare.
Stats or no stats it should be BoP, i don't want too see every non blacksmith with it.

On the contrary. There has been a huge uproar from the community since 4.0.3 regarding the sudden disappearance of the trainer. Although the "Reborn" in the name leads me to believe they will be current tier lvl gear, there is a possibility these weps are just further gold sinks as blizz knows people will be willing to spend good coin to get them.
Agree with Zachfu, if they have stats, they will be BoE to prevent making blacksmithing even more overpowered. Without stats, hopefully they will be BoP, offering a perk to the profession, soon to be followed with similar perks for leatherworking and tailoring.
ARGHHHHHHHH! I vendored mine ages ago.

And that was the reason Blizzard removed specialties in Wrath. I very much doubt that Blizzard would make the new items BoP. Blacksmiths are no longer special snowflakes; it's long past time to get over it.
Btw, the materials required for the final items look suitably expensive... on the order of 30 lightning steel ingots, 15 living steel, 15 spirits of harmony.

Anyone willing to gather the materials for that, and find a BS with enough spirits to spare, and pay the premium that I know all of us will charge for making the weapon... will still have a very rare transmog look.

Ive already started stocking up spirits, and living steel. Plan to make my own and be able to sell spirits.

i dont mind the items being rare, but there was no notice given that the specializations were being removed. I would have switched to weaponsmithing had i known. The armorsmithing chest piece was nice, but the look of the weapons was far better.

Pretty sure there was an announcement before Cata that specializations were being removed. Though you are correct that the patterns being removed was a shock.

Most people assumed that with the specialization being removed the items would become trainable by all blacksmiths, the (weapon)smith tag is now gone from the patterns if you already know them and even the speacialist trainers in dal got converted to regular blacksmith trainers now instead of being mace axe or swordsmiths like they were prior to the change.

Blizz gave no info to suggest otherwise. They just said the specializations were going as they werent needed anymore. No mention of the patterns.

Can be damn sure if we had known a lot of od would have switched specializations.
I think they should be rare, but They again should only be BoP since they where in outlands. Soemthing unique to blacksmiths. If I cant buy an Engi helm then they shouldnt be able to by our weapons. I was kind of sad that my dk couldn't get these weapons. my pally has them (executioners blade.) but he is not my main. but what they need to do is only allow you to get one sub type (swords maces or axes) like back in the day.
also what is lightening steel going to be made of?
