Can't log on: Error 114

Mac Technical Support
I've deleted a lot of cache files yesterday and I may have accidentally deleted some important WoW cache files.

Anyhow, I can't log onto the game and haven't been able to since yesterday. I've restarted my computer, turned it off and back on, restarted my router and flushed my DNS cache. It still won't let me log on and gives me this error. What gives?

Any help would be appreciated.

It's your cache, but this says it's something with an authenticator. Try following the instructions in that link.

Edit: Okay, I may have not read the link carefully. Did you delete the entire cache folder or just parts? That may have done it.

If you need to keep parts of the cache, make a copy of the entire folder then delete the entire original folder in the WoW directory. If you absolutely must, then cherrypick the files you need out of the saved folder into the new one that WoW will create when you restart the game. Keep checking back into WoW as you edit to make sure it's still working.
Saskea,

I see you're connecting from Australia as well. I'd recommend trying the steps in this sticky:

I tried!

:)
I just followed the instructions in the above link and opened the Launcher from the admin account and it still gives me the same error. :(

Wish they would upload a mac version of that stuff you linked.
Jurannok, I followed the instructions on the page right before I created this thread to no avail. Not really sure why it's giving me the error or if there's something I'm missing.

If it helps, my computer is a Mac (operating system: Mountain Lion). I also installed a software update so I'm not sure if that has affected anything either.
Solvexx,

The Mac version is posted on our Mac forums:

Saskea,

In your initial post you only mentioned deleting the cache files. What were your results when switching the DNS server information?
Juran, there is no "built in Ethernet" option here. Only an "Ethernet" button. So I clicked on Advanced from there and it doesn't give me an Airport option to select.
Saskea,

It sounds like you're looking at the link for the Mac instructions I gave to Solvexx. If you're using a PC, please use the first link I mentioned.
However, I went to DNS from the normal Ethernet Advanced tab and typed in the suggested IP and clicked apply. It's greyed out now and I'm not sure whether or not the changes have taken place or if it's still processing.

Juran, I think that first link you gave me is for Windows 7. I'm using a Mac and operate on a Mountain Lion and have followed the Mac instructions (on the other link that you posted) but it still gives me the error.
Oh, I see. If you're using a Mac as well that changes the steps we can do. I'm no expert on Mac systems, so let me move this thread over to the mac forum.
Thank you for the help and advice. I appreciate it. Not really sure what do to at this point but I guess I'll just keep trying.

P.s. Thanks again Juran. I would appreciate that.

If it doesn't work do a traceroute to us.depot.battle.net and post the results in that thread.

Unfortunately I'm off to bed here in NZ. It's 5.30 am here and my flat mates get up to go to their market day very very soon and always wake me up :( So I unfortunately won't be able to check it for 8 hours.

If you can't wait till then try going here :

Thank you so much, guys. After following the steps with the DNS setting, it didn't work immediately but it turns out that a simple restart of my computer following the change of settings was all I needed to do to make it work.

I was finally able to log on. Thank you, Juran and Bluespacecow and everyone who replied. Much appreciated! :)
