Top Villains In Cinema

There's some circumstances where I just flat out hate the villain like Nurse Ratched or Amon Goeth but they play the role so well. And sometimes I'll be rooting for the villain, like Bane. Who doesn't like a good villain in a movie? Here's a list of some villains in cinema. In no particular order.

NURSE RATCHED in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I hated this character. Which means she played the role of being the biggest B ever. This is my favorite movie of all time.

DARTH VADER in Star Trek. Probably one of the greatest villains in cinema history. Star Wars is a classic "good VS evil" story. With all the back story behind Darth Vader, it gives him a purpose and this puts him at the top for me.

LITTLE BILL in Unforgiven. Hands down the best western in my opinion. Also has one of the greatest endings in cinema. Little Bill takes care of the Englishman. Don't mess with Clint Eastwood, though. This earned Gene Hackman an Academy Award.

BANE in The Dark Knight Rises. Tom Hardy was awesome as Bane. I liked him better than The Joker. If only he had another second, he would have blown Batman's brains out. Really too bad. "Search him and then I will kill you."

TOMMY DEVITO in Goodfellas. Classic Joe Pesci.

FRANK BOOTH in Blue Velvet. Gas huffing psychopath. "Feel my muscles."

DON LOGAN in Sexy Beast. Ben Kingsley steals the show. "Why are you cussing?"

GUNNERY SERGEANT HARTMAN in Full Metal Jacket. Not really my favorite war movie but the first half is very entertaining as the soldiers try to deal with the boot camp drill sergeant.

SILVA in Skyfall. I'm a big Javier Bardem fan. He killed it in this.

ANTON CHIGURH in No Country for Old Men. Another villain Javier Bardem plays. "Call it." Cool haircut too...

DREXL in True Romance. One of my favorite Quentin Tarantino movies. Gary Oldman was pimp! "He must've thought it was whiteboy day."

HANS LANDA in Inglourious Basterds. This earned Christoph Waltz an Academy award and rightfully so. Awesome villain.

MR. BLONDE in Reservoir Dogs. The scene where he has the cop tied up... gangster.

SALIERI in Amadeus. Jellylol. Another one of my favorite movies.

THE JOKER in The Dark Knight. I love Jack Nicholson but sorry, Jack. This one is for Heath Ledger.

AMON GOETH in Schindler's List. Great acting by Ralph Fiennes.

JACK TORRANCE in The Shining. Jack Nicholson is my favorite actor of all time. And this is my favorite horror film of all time. PS. I memorized this scene as a kid and I would act it out.

I know I missed a bunch of other villains but what are some other ones you all can think of.

Post them!
AARON in Primal Fear. Crazy that this was one of Edward Norton's first films. Good acting. Doo-doo-doodling! Don't watch this scene if you haven't seen the movie. SPOILER ALERT!

DAVY JONES in Pirates of the Caribbean. Bill Nighy is the man. Shaun of the Dead, Love Actually but his role in Dead Man's Chest was good. "Life is cruel."

Okie dokie.
Since Kat added a cartoon...

TETSUO in Akira. I heard they might make a live action film into this. Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the producers. Would he play Tetsuo or Kaneda?

What about Saw? Would you consider him a Villain?

Or Lord Voldemort, I hate Lord Voldemort.
You left out possibly the greatest Villans of all time:

Johnny Ringo in Tombstone.
Val Kilmer in Top Gun.
Cobra Kai in Karate Kid.
Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.
John Travolta in Battlefield Earth.
Nice list

Special Agent Charlie Rakes
Terry O'Quinn - the Stepfather
Rutger Hauer - the Hitcher
Milly(I really consider her the antagonist here) - Bellflower
ALL THOSE ALIENS - Attack the Block
Batiatus(TV) - Spartacus
Lord Humongous - The Road Warrior
How about Caster Troy from Face off?

Good old nick cage just won this thread
Guy Pearce was great in Lawless. Loved that movie. Good one.

Jigsaw is a villain. I liked the first Saw. Haven't seen the other ones.
The Schindler's List is my all-time favorite movie, and I couldn't believe Ralph Fiennes didn't win the Oscars' Best Actor in a Supporting Role as Amon Goeth! Same goes to Liam Neeson for Oscars' Best Actor in a Leading Role as Oskar Schindler. They were robbed greatly, IMO.
Tyler Durden - Fight Club

Joker - The Dark Knight

Hans Landa - Inglourious Basterds

Calvin Candle/Stephen - Django Unchained
DARTH VADER in Star Trek.

DARTH VADER in Star Trek.
Haha. I was wondering when someone would catch that.

Good ones, Bebbit.
Charles Lee Ray
Nosferatu.

Don Lope de Aguirre in Aguirre: Wrath of God.

Harry (Sergi López) in With a Friend Like Harry. Sergi López is actually a really good villian in Pan's Labyrinth and Dirty Pretty Things, too. The guy can just play creepy so well.

The Operative (Chiwetel Ejiofor) in Serenity.

Kathy Bates in Misery.

Frank Booth in Blue Velvet.
