prot pally changes

Paladin
so wait i thought they were gonna make dodge and parry help us build holy power. i didnt see mention of it in the notes so were still gonna need dps gear?
It's not in the notes, but they did change Grand Crusader. In 5.2 it's a 12% chance to proc off of Crusader Strike, Hammer of the Righteous, dodges, and parries.

And it doesn't change our stat priorities, so yes, if you were using DPS gear before you'll be using DPS gear in 5.2 as well.
Grand Crusader had nothing to do with why we stacked haste anyhow.
Pallys are the most broken class in all this game. They just dont know what the heck are they doing with it. When druids Dk warrior tanks are regulary pulling 60k up to 70 k dps on a raid boss fight, best example is garalon, we are still way behind by an other 20k.
It was supposed to make dodge and parry more competitive with haste, which it partially succeeds at. Haste build takes a slight hit to HP gen, but not enough to notice. Dodge and parry on the other hand gain a reasonable amount of HP gen from the added AS', thus smoothing out the damage curve and making it less prone to damage spikes.

Given that it's a 12% chance to proc off of something that you have maybe 30-35% chance of doing, I don't really think it's going to be that noticeable if you're only focusing on the gains from avoidance.
Assigning anything to proc off dodge is retarded, dodge and parry are across the board, the worst avoidance stats this expansion for _EVERY_ tanking class, every secondary stat is better then them.

If they wanted us to stack more dodge and parry, that's fine, but make it viable for us to do that, having to stack like 6k dodge to get 1% is ... totally impractical even with the increase in gems.

Well, more haste = more Crusader Strikes = more GC procs. It's one of the reasons why haste affects holy power generation (and therefore mitigation).

If you can't do competitive damage as a paladin tank, you're doing it wrong. We're a little lackluster before Vengeance starts rolling in, but once it does, we keep pace easily with the other tank specs.

Garalon's a horrific example, incidentally. It's the least-friendly boss towards tank damage in the 5.0/5.1 tier since the boss doesn't hit the tanks hard enough or often enough to build a significant amount of vengeance.

A paladin who thinks with his heart will forget about DPS! edit
