On iMac having lag troubles.

Mac Technical Support
Hi. I've been having trouble in WoW and other games (Xbox, GW2) with lag spikes and latency issues.

I've tried online speed tests during these issues and for some reason it shows my internet speeds doing just fine while I'm still lagging in game. Sometimes its just 120-160 or so ms when i normally get around 77 ms. Others its just huge spikes where i get up to 2000+ ms and have characters in game jumping around or combat stuttering harshly for few minute periods. Even just earlier today I was having issues seeing characters or NPC's that weren't more than maybe 25 yds away from my character, which I've never personally experienced before.

Now, I personally am not a fan of my ISP but they are the only high speed internet in my area so I have to deal with it. I'd mainly just like help here to try and figure out the specific issue(s) so I can take it to them to see what they can do to help. I'm just affraid if i called now and told them my issues they'd just do a quick restart of my modem and check speeds (which would probably seem fine) and leave it at that.

I'll provide a traceroute here also to my battlegroup IP address. Something I noticed in this traceroute is that the number 2 line and number 6 line always show "***" so not sure if thats bad or normal? Anyway, thanks for any help you can provide.

The *** in this case may mean asked, as it doesn't look like high ms afterward.

Was this done when the lag spikes hit? I don't see anything wrong with this trace :(
I am also having lag/latency problems since installing 10.8 yesterday.
Can you clarify with details, like Onionknight did? This will help us out in determining if it is related or not.
I'm not sure how to run a traceroute
Try this article below:

Let us know what latency you're seeing in-game as well. It is best to run the trace when you have high latency.

My IN-GAME latency currently 436 ms home/450 ms world
It peaked today in the red over 5000ms world and home

From what I can see, this is not an issue on my end. This problem did not begin until the patch released.

But as of right now, the game is unplayable in this state. I'm a competitive pvper and I cannot do wpvp, bgs, practically anything now.

Please fix this!
Okay, It was just lagging and latency is up around 767 right now. Here is another traceroute:
