Ok so clearly you people don't follow Loreology. Otherwise you'd all be chatting about this.

So, not only was Illidan illegally banished from Night Elf culture by Malfurion, Tyrande was in the 100% legal right to free him, and the Warden SHOULD have stepped down.

Doin mah happy dance
So Muln leads the Earthen Ring once more.
Oh snap....that's interesting. So Illidan is not really a pariah.
Well, Illidan still did bad things and needed to die, but I guess those bad things wouldn't have happened had he not been imprisoned.

At least one draenei (Velen) is immortal. We haven't specified about the others, though some do remember Argus. :)

Oh, you tease.

Poor Muln Earthfury. No one seems to remember him running the show. ;)

Well, that kind of happens when the big Earthen Ring expansion doesn't have Muln in it at all.
I hadn't caught that bit about Velen. I wonder what's fueling his immortality?
Wow, the implication of those tweets are quite staggering. Also, I wonder if immortality was a gift given by the nauru to Velen?

The real question is if he knew he wasn't.

I think TFT cinematics mentions he was banished. TFT would have most likely never happened had he not been banished.

It's interesting that, barring the novels of WotA (though Im going to reread to double check) most of Illidan's bad decisions were spurred on by his brothers prejudice and/or lack of care for his brother.

You know, it was mentioned earlier on the forums that Tyrande had the whole Vampire Diaries going on, and that's pretty accurate.

Illidan seems to care FAR more about his family and circle of friends than Malfurion, just as Stephen and Daimon do, and the line where Daimon tells Stephen that the difference between the two of them is that while Stephen only loves Elaina as a human, Daimon loves her either way very telling.

God.. I want a tv show about that now, only with WoW.
If Illidan knew he was illegally banished I think he wouldn't of gone insane. Poor Illidan...now I feel even more bad for him.
ok what is this guy credentials?

Sean Copeland is one of Blizzard's three historians. He's paid to know all the lore there is to know. He made waves at Blizzcon 2011 by going onto stage with Metzen so he didn't have another "Isn't Falstad dead"? moment and by introducing himself as "Blue Shirt Guy".

He's also got pretty good taste in liquor.

It brings up an older theory I have that Malfurion was especially harsh with Illidan because he was afraid he'd take Tyrande from him

Least it's now official.

If it's just him then probably the naaru. If it's all draenei then it's probably something to do with the arcane mastery they had on Argus.

Hush, Tyrande.
Yeah I just rechecked Warcraft 3's night elf campaign and yes it does make him a total tool.
Sad this is. Hero once was. Pariah become he has.
What? No thank you for locking Copeland in a room and interrogating him for as long as I can come up with tweets?

But no, really. I just decided to go on a tweet binge. I do that a lot. If any of you have lore questions I'd be happy to tweet when I remember/not lazy.
