This is just a question for fun. ^.^ If the Night elves and Blood elves were both at war and didnt have any help from their factions, who would win?
You better answer me.
Blood Elves of course
Night Elves.... >> We all seen what the blood elves could do at their prime.

Let just put it like this NE and HE both fought the scourge. The scourge being the common enemy and so the measuring stick.

The Scourge took some time breaking through to Quel thalas but ultimately failed.

The Night elves not only fought the scourge but did it at half their forces seeing as how the druids was asleep. They also fought elite shock troops of the buring legion alongside the scourge and still held the line.

Also, if Quel Thalas was stronger then the Nigh Elves, Medivh would have told the humans to help defend Quel thalas at all cost.

This is kinda what I thought too. I love Night Elves. :3
Just based on numbers night elves would win. That's not even considering the night elves superior military.
Night Elves ^___^

... The bulk of the Scourge stayed behind to occupy the Eastern Kingdoms, the most successful general of... ANYTING, Arthas also stayed out of the fight, the Night Elves actually failed miserably on every front up to and including Archimonde mounting the World Tree itself, and even then that was WITH the Legion having to contend with both the remnant of Lordaeron AND the Orcish Horde. The Night Elves were backed up by all their stupid forest friends like the Chimera and Mountain Giants and even then they were completely and utterly overrun.

They didn't hold off the Scourge/Legion - even with maximum back up they got their butts handed to them. They only managed to buy enough time for Malfurion to cast Epic Exploding Runes on the tree sitting over the most powerful font of energy on Azeroth. If someone did that to the Sunwell when Arthas got there, WC3 would have ended 2 chapters sooner, and the Night Elves wouldn't even have made it into the franchise.

As to Med'ivh, he had the single most circuitous, convoluted, and downright stupid means of stopping the Legion one can possibly imagine. The number of things that could have gone wrong for them, that could have been stopped simply by him bothering to elaborate is monstrous.

If he knew anything beyond "Archimonde will die here because of stupid prophecy x" he could easily have directed people to, instead of EVACUATING AN ENTIRE KINGDOM... raid Caer Darrow and uncover the Scourge before it gets off the ground? Check out his own last tome from Dalaran and destroy it? Get the forces of Lordaeron to destroy the last remaining demon gate? Shove Kel'thuzad down a well when he's not looking? ... the crazy, rambling old man schtick got him absolutely no where, and got countless millions of innocent people killed and/or worse.
I actually thought it would have been cool if it was Sentinels vs Sunreavers on the Isle of Thunder instead of the Kirin Tor, have a nice elf vs elf thing going.
Are we going by logic or by how Blizzard has been writing the two races recently?
In WC3, the night elves were stronger than the entire Horde (which consisted of orcs, tauren, jungle trolls and some ogres at the time). In WoW, Blizzard sidelined their nature allies and made their druids neutral... and they've still been pushing the orcs back while dealing with other threats on the side.

When the Scourge rampaged through Quel'Thalas, it killed 90% of the high elf population. Of the 10% that remained, 90% became blood elves... but the best and brightest of these joined Kael's army, and were subsequently killed off during his failed campaigns in TFT and TBC. They'd now be standing at something like 6 or 7% of the population they had a decade ago. Not exactly a world superpower.
The blood elven armies would just face palm when they see that night elves have enlisted mages.

There are some druids that do serve the Alliance and Darnassus' Army though...

If we go by the second the night elves would be crushed in 5 minutes and require the humans to come bail them out.

The Blood Elves, despite their cocky attitudes, were still unnerved by the Highborn making an appearance.

It would probalby be Varian paddling a broken battleship across the sea to save the night elves by himself. Because as we all know they are far too incompetent to conduct war anymore.
Currently, after the BEs lost a huge amount of their population in WC2, and then 90% of it in WC3...it's no contest. Pre-WC2 it would be a harder matchup to call.
Night elves win of course...

The blood elves could not do anything against them.
Even at the heigh of the High elf power they still would not be able to challenge the night elf. The Night elf have more numbers then the High elf ever will. Look at the land mass of the High elf vs Night elf. Eversong, Sun isle and of course Ghostland. Look at what the night elves control, Mount Hyjal, Felwood,Azhara,Feralas,Ashenvale,Darkshore, Stone talon for a while.

All of that was there vs what the High elves have, not only that the Arcane arts would get destroyed by druidic powers.
The bloodelves could win at being slaughtered in mass.
