best hunter pet

Hunter
what are the top 5 for DPS in a PvE environment..And what are the top 5 for PvP...This is for the beast master spec..Presently I use a lion but some people tell me they suck for PvE..

If you're covered, take the 4 buffs that are least represented in your raid and a Tallstrider and use that

If you're not raiding, take Quilen/Spirit Beast/Corehound/Serpent/Sporebat.

If you don't care about buffs or anything, use whatever pet you want. All pets will do the same DPS in ferocity spec (minus BMs mastery).

But overall what Leorina said.

Nice!
Sporebat.

All jokes aside, that chart is pretty much all you need.

(It's not a hunter forum post without sporebat) :)
for pvp the absolute best is a shale spider for the stun.

however the devilsaur is pretty good to weaken a healer, come next patch when battle fatigue is increased, a devilsaur can stop more then 60% of a healers healing.

in a raid if everything is covered, take a tallstrider for the AoE sunder armour.
Spirit Porcupine ftw!

Can't believe I've never stumbled on that chart before. Good find.

lol, Hell yes! Thank you, Can others feed my pet? Every once in a while my rhino will get super huge randomly and not in dungeons.
That could be Bestial Wrath, or Heroism. There's also a minor glyph that causes the recipient of Misdirection to appear larger Glyph of Direction.

And no, only you can feed your own hunter pet :x
Kiblers bits also work on lock demons, dk guols/geists, and the mage water elemental. sadly, it doesnt work on pary members, or companions (Certificate of Ownership anyone?)

watch this video for best hunter pet.
enjoy xD
I always got yelled at for having the wrong pet out, so I just use what my raid/guild members tell me to use at certain times.
Spirit beast - Heal yourself
Spore Bat - Spell haste buff
Core hound - Hero/Lust
Quilen - Rebirth
:)
So, what's the best hunter tank pet then? I'm using a turtle from Pandaria but if can't hold aggro on more then one enemy. I'm also survival spec.
1) if MM or SV, no pet can out aoe agro you with out using the glyph of misdirect and constantly MDing to your pet non stop.
2) it really doesn't matter, shell shield won't always buy your pet time to live if you over pull stuff. Pets are durable to most NPCS now, especially when specced into tenacity, and with the glyph of mending active, spirit bond, glyph of animal bond, and casting mend pet every 6 seconds.
Wormy worms :)
