Can't Install the game from the website.

Hello, I've been trying to re-install the game from the website, The downloader downloads fine, but once it's been downloaded and I try to open it I get the following message. "Failed to open a required file. Please check your internet connection and try again".

I'm connected directly to my modem via an Ethernet cable, I've tried resetting, flushing DNS all that fun stuff. Any other suggestions?

Not sure if this matters, but I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit, quad core processor.
Im having the same problem if u figure anything out let me know i will do the same

Thanks
Broccori

I've tried all of that, I followed your suggestions in a different post, I even tried disabling my antivirus (Microsoft security essentials). Still no luck though.

1. Make sure that your Windows Secondary Logon service is enabled.

Here's a support article that will help with that:

Enabling Windows Secondary Logon Service

2. Make sure that you are running on the most recent version of Flash.

Here's a link where that can be downloaded: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Hey Dankorii, I tried both of those options. Neither worked. Could my logging in from China have anything to do with it? I downloaded the game client in China last year, but it's just not wanting to work now. I'm using Google Chrome as my default browser, I tried all those steps in chrome and explorer btw.

I don't think you downloading from China would be an issue unless you are going through a network firewall that is blocking the ports being used by the game.

Try running a selective startup to get around this. Please be aware that running while in this mode can potentially disable any security programs you may have running.

Here's a support article with steps on how run the selective startup: Closing Background Applications

Hey Dankorii, thanks for the tips, I'm in the office for the rest of the day, I'll try those out once I get home tonight..

^^cheers.
This still did not solve the issue, still getting "Failed to open a required file. Please check your internet connection and try again. Error Code: BLZPTS0000F

The actual installer/downlader managed to download from the website, but when I go to run it, I get the error I listed above.

I'm having no trouble playing other online games, or using other applications such as Google Earth, Modern Warfare 2 Online etc.

I even tried right clicking and running as admin but nothing seems to work.

1. Besides Microsoft Security Essentials, have any other security programs been installed in this system before? If so, which ones?

2. Lets make sure that WoW is completely uninstalled and then reinstall it by using the online streaming client. Be sure to follow all of the steps in the link below.

Here's a support article that will help with the uninstall/reinstall process:

I think it's working now! Thanks a lot for your help. I had previously installed and uninstalled the Chinese client, but I guess there was some data still hidden over that had to be manually deleted. Thanks for the help in that last thread.

You're welcome, please feel free to post again if you have any other questions or problems.
