Mage OP without Pyroblast?

Because I don't have any Pyroblast (nor the dust to craft any) and I don't feel myself at an advantage at all when playing as a Mage, in fact I think I do better playing other classes. When playing against Mages that don't have/use Pyroblast I have more often a win than loss.

You can make a reasonable mage deck without Pyroblast, but if you're looking to have a competitive deck, don't bother spending any dust building a mage deck unless you're going to craft Pyroblast.

pyroblast is not necessary to win as a mage, imo. the goal is to damage with the cheapest spells possible, so you have more flexibility to deal with threats. fireballs + a bit of spell damage buffs work fine. the ancient dalaran mage is an excellent card to increase your spell damage potential with, and if you throw in a youthful brewmaster or 2, it can be at malygos levels with just a few minions on the board.

it's also funny to cast a fireball for 11 damage, although truthfully it is rare...

naturally, spell damage also increases your other spell's potential as well...2 ogre magi on your side will make arcane explosion do the same damage as flamestrike!
