Warrior hero power MUST change
01/10/2014 09:04 AMPosted by ShadowmournePaladin: Another great power. There is always something to hit on the board and you can't just leave it alone because god knows what that pala up to with it(kings, bubble, other kind of buffs or all?). Profit again.
you think that's great hero power... hahahhaha
Check yourself before you wreck yourself...
I would like to see world through your eyes but I can't... XD
Arthrathi weapon smith should get 3/4 stats instead of 3/3.. ......... At 3/3 it trades even with 2 drops..And the weapon is really weak.
Dude... you get 2/2 weapon for free... You can instantly remove that 2 drop who is bothering you... XD .... O_O I can't believe this...

You really need to learn how to play warrior... O_o
Btw check some decks on Hearthstone pages like: hearthpwn, hearthhead and others...
Good luck OP! I found my warrior deck there and it rulez... I have problems with mage atm... :/ new patch and !@#$... :D
EDIT: that warrior had almost 30 hp + 35 armor ... omg.... http://i.imgur.com/gBBXffp.jpg
Just imagine a real warrior, Huge guys with extreme power, heavy armor and always a huge hammer/Sword/Axe and normally if you are in a battle with these guys you don't want them to get momentum, other wise its a downhill fight for you all the way.

Do you happen to know how that game turned out? Because it looked like the warrior is still going to lose, which is kind of the point of this thread.

But how does gaining armor help you win the game in anyway? By gaining armor you're negating damage. You're not attacking creatures. You're not burning divine shields away. You're not drawing cards. You'r not putting minions into play. You're simply negating damage which doesn't win you a game.
If you watch any great warrior player they'll attack with weapons without armor. Why? Because negating 2 points of damage isn't worth losing to mana and tempo against your opponent.
The warrior hero power is bad. It doesn't matter if it synergies (Which it really doesn't) with cards in the deck. It doesn't improve your board state, thus making it inferior to every other hero power in the game.
01/15/2014 11:04 AMPosted by MaaneeHere's the issue that all of you are missing. Classes aren't supposed to be equal to each other. They aren't all supposed to do the same thing. Each class is supposed to have good and bad things about it that allow other classes to counter balance them. As the meta shifts along the day, what class you should be playing also changes. Kripparrian did a phenomenal video explaining this shift pointing to a constructed player who took rank 1 playing a control druid deck since all of his opponents had been running fast decks.
That's fine. I expect other classes to play differently from each other. However that option isn't open to warrior decks. You're either playing the rush down, or you're playing a Pyrosmith deck.
The Warrior hero power would make sense if we had cards that stalled, and got better as the game went on. However that isn't the case with warriors. Our highest cost non-legendary minon is at 4 mana (Arthai Weaponsmith). If the Warrior deck could stall we would have more powerful casted minions. We would have spells that actually had beneficial non-rng effects (Brawl is an awful board wipe).
Decks need to be different, but decks also have to function at a basic level. Likewise if everyone else's hero power advances their board state in some shape or form, I expect warriors to do the same.
Or be like a mix of druid and rogue, gain 1 shield and get a 1/1 weapon
Or +2 shield and upgrade! effect if weapon is equipped.
or give 2 shield to you or a creature similar to priest
- let the warrior choose to do 1 of either:
- give 2 armor to himself
- give 1 armor to a minion
Then it would be basically very close to the priest power - the priest would have the advantage that he can heal a minion for 2, the warrior would have the advantage that he can go above the base health.
Makes sense yes?
01/15/2014 08:01 AMPosted by KirbyDude65This is true, but no one plays shield slam.
Shield Slam is probably one of the best warrior control spells. Combined with something like Shield Block you have a 5 dmg removal for 4 cost and a draw card. Warrior armor can get ridiculously out of control. The warrior deck I run with has amazing control, and near infinite card draw. The armor isn't as weak as people think. That being said, I think the priests can be better. Unless a warrior is stacking armor early and often, the priest power does the same thing, except he can help minions which is great for board control.
It absolutely brings nothing to the table.
granted...i did win this match, but i dealt 61 damage to a warrior in one game because of his hero power. effective health is a good thing...he did not have the minions to really fight me though.
