Why is the warrior hero power essentially a heal? Like really?

Nah, it's just there for people to use when they have nothing else better to play with 2 mana.

yeh it's a heal.. but a useless heal. a self-heal is bandaid into a free hit for the opponent.
so it stalls a 1-2 drop minion for a turn... then what? you're behind a minion and he'll just keep pelting you with hits.

different story for priests. they HEAL their minions which essential gives better trades.

the warrior hero power does NOT ENHANCE THE COMBAT TRADE VALUE OF MINIONS. which is why they suck so bad

The Warrior hero power compensates for the damage you take when using your weapons to remove enemy minions. If you can survive that damage, weapons are some of the most card and mana efficient removal cards that exist. The Warrior hero power helps you survive using that removal.

It's a weak hero power, but it has excellent synergy with the cards available in a Warrior deck.

what synergy? maybe only to shield slam and that's it. I won't count shield block because the hero power doesn't exactly enhance that card play as a combo

even druid's 1/1 hero power does a better job helping with board control with pinging 1hp units.

warriors are pigeon holed to overkilling units with the weapon cause they HAVE to.

Another difference between the priest's heal and the warrior's armor up is that you can get armor added to your health that exceeds your max health. If you're playing well and keeping the enemy off you with taunts and making good trades, armoring up when you have nothing else to play or to mitigate damage you would take from attacking with a weapon, you might end up having a health pool of 40 or 50 while they're capped at 30.

Warrior hero power should be: Equip a 2/1 weapon... and before hunters cry OP!!!!!!

Your ability is unique in the fact it bypasses all taunt/redirect effects and with rare exception will it ever cause you to hurt your self.

Just get rid of shield slam... and replace it with something good, like:

Blood rage, increase the durability of your weapon for each friendly damaged character. At worst its a +1 durability for 1... at best its +2 or 3.. for 1 or 2 mana I'd say.

All of a sudden the pirates would start looking good in most warrior decks and start to find homes in decks.. rather then be automatic disenchants...

Try ramming an Arcanite Reaper into a Lord of the Arena without it. Or even just a Fiery War Axe into a Spellbreaker.
