Battlenet Updating EVERY time I load

Not sure why this is, but every single, solitary time I load Battlenet, it patches. It's fast, but annoying. It's only been happening the past week. I can literally open Battlenet to play Hearthstone, close it, and reopen it immediately and it will patch again. It also sometimes patches when I EXIT the game and still have Battlenet open. Any ideas why or how to correct this?

I have the same problem, except for me it started around a month ago. I've checked permissions and administrative rights and everything is in order. This is also the only Blizzard (or any) game this happens for.

Thanks for responding Omrakos. I followed those instructions, reinstalled Battle.net, and it's still happening. Every time I exit Hearthstone, it updated Battle.net. If I switch between America/Europe it updates. Pretty much everything I do causes it to update.

Ikky,

Try opening up your Hearthstone game folder and deleting the Updates folder inside.

I thought that worked...but unfortunately, no. I deleted the Updates folder and then logged back. Naturally, it updated. I went into America, exited, and it didn't update! I switched over to EU, and it updated. I logged out of EU, it updated. I switched to NA, it didn't update, until I logged in and then logged out. As soon as I logged out, it updated again.

Ikky,

Could you uninstall and then reinstall the Battle.net Desktop App next? It can be uninstalled in the Programs and Features applet within the Control Panel. You can get another copy of the installer from your battle.net Account Management page if you need it again.

I uninstalled via the Control Panel, went to my Battle.net Account Management/Download Clients page and reinstalled Battle.net.

I loaded America and exited - It did not update.
I switched to Euro - It did not update. I loaded the game and exited and it updated.

Ok I did additional testing. I loaded America 3x in a row and exited and it never updated. It was updating when exiting the same region multiple times prior to this, so one of the steps above solved that problem. It appears the switching between EU and America is what is causing it to update now. The thing that I find odd about that is that it doesn't update until AFTER I exit the game.

Ikky,

Well, you might try uninstalling and reinstalling the Hearthstone game client next.

If a new install of Hearthstone still does it, I also see you have Diablo III on the account, but it hasn't been accessed recently. Could you give that a try and see if it happens with that game as well?

Doing the Hearthstone re-installation right now, but so far the only change the above have resulted in is that I have to manually hit the Update button for it to check the patch data. I did check the update settings and it's supposed to do it automatically.

So basically, it's worse than before.

Re-installing didn't work. I also have multiple games on my launcher and can confirm that this doesn't happen to any other game except Hearthstone.

Edit: The automatic update process started working again at least. So that only leaves the original problem.

Edit 2: Upon further testing the following is 100% true for me:

I even loaded/exited the same region multiple times and it wouldn't update. Switching regions guarantees it updates after I exit.

I tried D3 (logging in and out) and D3 does not update upon exiting like Hearthstone does. I'll try uninstalling/reinstalling Hearthstone in a few minutes.

Ikky,

Ok, turns out this is happening right now when you switch regions, since the Naxxramas launch. I'm not sure if it's considered a bug at this time or if the developers intend to do anything about it as it's not really doing anything, it's just cosmetic in nature as it's validating files that should be there are in fact there, but displaying the update progress bar in the process.
