This link should work.https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/solution/hearthstone/567
However, they will probably just tell you the same stuff to try then send you back here. The people over here are likely just as knowledgeable, if not more so with this issue in regards to Hearthstone. I know back in the day when I was a paid moderator the forum moderators also looked through tickets, and it wasn't uncommon for the ticketing people to ask us questions if we knew a solution or had heard of issue x from time to time. (I only handled English tickets, while we were in a chat room with people in other countries, so sometimes they'd ask if we'd seen issue x on our side.)
Unfortunately since this issue affects such a small number of players, and every user is fairly unique in hardware configuration, and there is no way to observe/test the issue directly, if they haven't answered they probably don't know what else to suggest to you.
I would go through doing a fresh install of 8.1 but it seems the poor folks running 8.1 are in the same position of encountering all sorts of crashes.
Yes and no. While there are a lot of crash issues, compared to the total 10 million+ players, you are likely talking about something smaller than 1/4 of 1% of all users are affected. (Even assuming 75% of those accounts were only created to get the WoW mount and they never came back.) As example, I run on Win 8.1 and ever since starting in beta I've never had a single issue of the game filing to run and getting the kind of errors you see.
Even though you don't see the effects in other games, I really don't think this is caused by Hearthstone. You've run all the tests I can think of, so outside of doing something like a safe boot to windows and trying under that condition, I really have no idea what else to try since I can't observe/test the hardware directly.
Heck, it might even be something crazy like the modem/router. Someone in another thread said there was some kind of channel switch, and they were unable to stay connected to Hearthstone and had crashes, but once they switched the channel their wireless router they were fine.
Honestly I wouldn't recommend someone move from Win 7 to Win 8 right now due to the rumors that Win 9 may go into public testing within the next few months. If Win 9 is right around the corner it might be best to just hold out. (Though that's terribly sad if it means you can't play game x until that happens.)
I would really appreciate some insight from someone affiliated with Blizzard, [No offense Rabbit, thank you for taking the time to review and reply :-)]
Meh, I don't know all the things. :) If I did this wouldn't be the 7th birthday I've spent homeless, and this year, unemployed as well. :(
Though they do see the forums, and I know they 'spy on' MVP posts, so they've undoubtedly seen the thread. If nothing has been suggested they likely don't know what else to suggest either. :(
