Fair Play is at the Heart of Hearthstone - Win Trading

Fair play is at the heart of Hearthstone. The Ranked Play ladder is a place where players have the opportunity to duel and gauge their card-slinging prowess while climbing the ranks. Participating in Ranked Play should be fun, exciting, competitive, and fair.

We’ve recently banned Hearthstone accounts that were found to be participating in win trading. Win trading at any rank is something that we do not take lightly, and is in violation of our Terms of Use. As we mentioned in our previous statement regarding fair play in Hearthstone, instances of cheating will not be tolerated. Accounts that were discovered participating in win trading have received permanent account closure and disqualification from events where ranking is used as a method of qualification.

Thank you for keep this game safe and fair.

How does this even work, and how can anyone benefit from this? To complicated, just play the game the way it was made to be played. It was made that way for a reason.

Could I ask what is exactly "win trading"? As far as I know, in Ranked play you are faced against random players :) I mean, you cannot play with friends lol

What if I hit legend and want to see how low ranked( within legend rank ) I can get so I concede 100 games in a row?

So stealing results in a 2 month ban but win-trading results in full account closure...I have people that I believe Win-Traded but why not the same stance on those that botted?

So win trading would typically occur in Legend. The Legend player base has a few suspects in mind which is why I assume WhiteRun referenced Tournaments with Rank requirements to enter.

Blizzards matchmaking system is inherently flawed in that to reduce to queue times it values quicker matchmaking over more accurate matchmaking. This makes win-trading easy because someone can simply have 2 Legend accounts and queue them into each other over and over on off hours. A few players did this during beta, not to cheat, but to show Blizzard that their matchmaking system was flawed.

Agreed. I can't believe this gives a perma ban without warning, but botting gets a slap on the wrist without taking their earnings away. I'm actually disgusted.

You ban botters for 3 month with no penalty but ban wintraders forever?

In my opinion the botters are far more worse...

Whats wrong with you Blizzard?

That's not Win-Trading.

Now I regret that I donated some money. I should have used bots! As for wintraders, indeed, too strict.

I applaud Blizzard's recent effort to discourage cheating in Hearthstone. I feel the 3 month ban for botting was the warning shot that they are serious. Account closures for win-trading is the next step. I'm sure the next round of botting penalties will also be stricter. Be warned cheaters!

Is win trading the same as farming a rank? 'Cause I'm not sure what win trading is.

Win trading is the act of trading wins between two knowing parties.

"Queue into me and let me win so I can get legend" would be an example.

I concede when I see I can't win. Is there a min amount of time you have to play before you can concede so you aren't flagged as win trading?

Also, win trading gets a permanent ban and botting did not? Where is the logic there?

You need to define win trading.

You also need to change all of those 3 month bans into permanent account closures.

Good job Blizzard, Win Trade = Perma Ban, Botting = 3 month bans, nice work.

Bot to legend rank using a zoo deck that has 52% average win rate at any rank, receive 3 month suspension

Win trade to legend rank using friends, receive perma ban

????

Profit?

Let's just post this again since no one reads. Not trying to sound rude, but I do get a little irritated at the scrutiny Blizzard deals with when often times (granted not always) it's unwarranted.

Blizzard has addressed botting as well, not just the win trades. Stop complaining about three month bot bans, now that Blizzard has addressed that as well. Please?
