Americas Championship Coming to Las Vegas, Nevada!

All summer long, droves of Heroes of the Storm teams have been competing in Open Tournaments with hopes of brawling their way to the Americas Championship. Tempo Storm, Cloud9 Maelstrom, and COGnitive Gaming have already proven their mettle during the June and July North America Opens, claiming three of the eight available seats at the Americas Championship, but they’re not out of the woods just yet.

Even in a competition of skill, strategy, and teamwork, it can never hurt to have lady luck on your side. All eight qualifying teams would be wise to seek her favor, because we’re partnering up with ESL and Twitch to bring you the 2015 Americas Championship LIVE from fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada on September 19-20 where you’re invited to watch the action unfold online or in person at the Las Vegas Convention Center!

Americas Championship Details & Format

Reaching the Americas Championship is no easy feat, and each of the squads that qualify will have had to battle through scores—and sometimes hundreds—of competitive Heroes teams to get there during our North America Open Tournaments.

Eight teams in total will head to the Americas Championship from our Open events—including five from North America, one from Latin America, one from Southeast Asia, and one from Australia/New Zealand—where they’ll duke it out over a $100,000 USD prize pool and a chance to compete on the World Championship stage at BlizzCon later this year.

Tournament Format

The Americas Championship is split into two stages. During the first stage, eight qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four to play in the double-elimination group stage. The top two performing teams from each group will then advance to stage two, where they’ll compete in the single-elimination semifinal bracket, and a victor will be crowned.
