Kick Back and Tune In to HomeStory Cup VII

It's been nearly 6 months since Jens 'Snute' Aasgaard was crowned champion at HomeStory Cup VI in December. This weekend, he's returning to Krefeld, Germany for HomeStory Cup VII, where he'll battle to defend his title against some of the world's top StarCraft II players from today, June 20 through Sunday, June 23.

Twenty four players were invited to participate in HomeStory Cup VII, while the eight remaining slots were filled by players who proved their StarCraft II mettle at the online regional qualifiers held for Europe, Korea, and North America. These 32 competitors will duke it out across two group stages and the round of 8 bracket for their share in the $25,000 prize pool. What's more, HomeStory Cup VII is now a Tier 2 World Championship Series event, which means there are plenty of coveted WCS points up for grabs.

Despite the magnitude of this weekend's matches, HomeStory Cup is first and foremost a tournament that prides itself on providing a fun, casual atmosphere for players and viewers alike. Hosted once again by Dennis 'TaKe' Gehlen's at his home in Krefeld, the event will be riddled with amusing side events, player interviews, and epic Heart of the Swarm action. If you’ve never caught a HomeStory Cup before, the video below perfectly captures the flair of these events.

Stop by the official HomeStory Cup VII info page for event details, including the complete player list, full broadcast schedule, and competition format. You can catch the action all weekend long with TaKe, Kevin 'RotterdaM' van der Kooi, and plenty of players-turned-shoutcasters as they cover each match on the tournament's main stream and B-Stream. The show kicks off each day at 4:00 a.m. PDT, with the exception of Sunday's broadcast, which starts at 5:00 a.m. PDT. HomeStory Cup VII is guaranteed to be an event to remember, so don't miss out!
