The Red Bull Battle Grounds are coming up in New York City later this month and the qualification process jumps into high gear this weekend in Santa Monica. There are only four open spots in the tournament and some of your favorite WCS players are fighting to claim three of them this Sunday, November 3.
Sasha ‘Scarlett’ Hostyn, Chris ‘Huk’ Loranger, Danny ‘ViBE’ Scherlong, and Kevin ‘qxc’ Riley clash Sunday afternoon for a shot at NYC and a talented field of players that includes defending Battle Grounds champion Jang ‘MC’ Min Chul, WCS Season 2 champion Choi ‘Bomber’ Ji Sung, Training Grounds Orlando champion Jens ‘Snute’ Aasgaard, and Training Grounds Santa Monica champ Jo ‘Golden’ Myeong Hwan. Before the pros begin their fight for those three slots in New York, the open qualifier will see one online player, out of hundreds, earn a spot at Red Bull Battle Grounds New York.
It’s all part of a full weekend of Red Bull eSports action ahead of the WCS Global Finals. Pro players will be qualifying for Battle Grounds New York, fans will get a chance to play the custom maps to be used in the New York event, and one online player will join the best pros in the world beginning November 23 at the Hammerstein Ballroom.Check out Red Bull eSports for more information on this weekend’s activities and make sure to tune in to the official Red Bull eSports stream at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Saturday, November 2, and again at 10:00 a.m. PST on Sunday.
