Season 4 Lock Coming Soon

Season 4 is drawing to a close, and that means that all ladders will be locked soon.

Season 4 Lock

What does this mean for you? During the Season 4 lock, you can no longer be promoted or demoted out of your current league or division, and your bonus pool will stop growing. Once locked to a league and division, you'll still be able to play out your remaining bonus pool and compete for standing within your division until the end of the season, so it's a great time to enjoy yourself and maybe even push for a better milestone. If you're pursuing a league promotion, there's no time like the present! The Season 4 lock will go into effect on Tuesday, December 13 at 4:30 AM PST.

Please note that the hidden ratings used to determine promotions and demotions will continue to update during the Season 4 lock and be used for matchmaking purposes. This means that if you play significantly better or worse than your assigned league at the time of the lock, your league may change when Season 5 begins and you play your first placement match. If you go on a major winning streak during the lock, for example, you may end up promoted next season. Conversely, if you happen to lose a lot more than usual, you may end up demoted. Your games during the lock still count!

Season 5 Start Date

The Season 4 lock also means that Season 5 is right around the corner. During the week of December 19, Season 4 will end and Season 5 will begin. Season milestone rewards will be locked in at this time, and bonus pools will start over. Hidden skill ratings used for matchmaking and league placement will carry over from the previous season, so if you've completed placement matches in a previous season you will only need to play one new placement match after Season 5 starts.

If im rank 1 diamond, what are my chances in being placed in masters?

@iiHacK: It really depends on how you've been doing against Masters players. I was rank 1 platinum after last season's lock, and I was placed into diamond because I was winning the majority of my games against diamond players. So if you've been winning a lot against masters players, there's probably a good chance ^_^

STILL DOES NOT, i REPEAT DOES NOT, answer the question about the bonus pool, what it is, how or why it doesnt reset.. So if I dont have a clue what the bonus pool is, which I been playing since the day BEFORE the game came out and i still dont know as there is no official help for it.
Should say in the damn game what it is and for, like a little ? help sign, like really.

The bonus pool is just a bonus pool of points that builds up if your not active. It helps you get some ladder points after not coming back to the game for a while

lol, none of you have any right to complain about balance, if you are losing, chances are it's because you are awful and need to improve rather than because x is imba. Get better instead if complaining on bnet.

@TGsNotaa: I kind of agree, but at lower levels of play (basically below Grandmasters), there ARE some things that are somewhat imbalanced. Basically anything that requires much better mechanics to hold off than it does to execute is not really "balanced", and such things do exist, especially in PvZ

w00t just got gold as I was hoping to do before tuesday XD, Only took me 3 games as opposed to 2 days like I was dreading. Thanks blizzard for the approximate points needed to get a promotion, it was quite accurate! I ended up getting like 790 points to get it.

I'd like to see three month seasons. Two is too short, but I think the older seasons were way too long. Also, switching out the map pool for tournament maps would be nice. Especially high on the request list are maps with neutral supply depots! Tournaments put them there for a reason!

THE SEASONS ARE WAY TOO SHORT! YOU HARDLY HAVE ANY TIME TO DO ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT WITH YOUR LIFE AND THE WAIT TIMES IN BETWEEN OF DOING NOTHING BUT PLAYING POINTLESS GAMES CUZ U DON'T RANK IN A LEAGUE ARE ALSO TOO LONG. MAKE SEASONS LONGER!!!!!!!!!

Add GSL and TPW maps to the ladder pool.
And bring back SNOWY MAPS NAWWWWWW!!!!

I dont really like 2 month seassons. i think 3 month or even 4 would be better to get rid of those bonus pool points.
I hope you guys address the GM league placement system (not that it has any direct effect on a scrub like me), for what ive read here and on TL the system seems pretty broken and abusable.
