Heart of the Swarm Update - New Videos

A large number of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm demo stations were featured at the MLG Spring Championship that ran June 8-10, where attendees sat down to see the future of StarCraft II multiplayer first hand. We wanted to share the excitement with players who couldn’t be there in the flesh, so here’s a video featuring the latest updates to the Heart of the Swarm multiplayer units.

So zerg gets this new siege unit that forces Terran to make a wall to defend there bases otherwise they will get overrun by a bunch of swarm host broodlings, but ever so conveniently zerg also gets a unit that can pull siege tanks into the firing line of those siege units, and unless you happen to be watching that same area the whole time they could do this without your army even having a chance to fire, while all zerg has to do is set up a move order for there vipers to grab the tanks while they simply distract terran with a mineral raid or such... And all I can say is "But they already had fungal growth and they nerfed snipe WHY!!!!!"

@Sleath: That is failed logic. Terran wasn't meant to be OP in Wings of Libert and Zerg isn't meant to be OP in Heart of the Swarm. That's why Terrans received like 20 nerfs since the release. Blizzard is just going to make it harder on themselves by making zerg so overpowered. Because they're gonna have to nerf it and then they'll have to face the rage of all the Zerg players who whine about ten times harder than any other race.

@Sleath: Ya terran was o.p. in wing o liberty i mean zerg could make 40 units at once protoss could warp in a whole new army but oh not SOME HOW WE HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THAT THAT........THE TURTLEING TERRANS ARE O.P. because we all now how mek armies with siege tanks are so great against broods and carriers so thank you sleath oh wise newb thank you for such reasonable input

@Chewy: They just took away the war hounds air attack. so now there is no easy counter to air since no factory units hit air execpt thors which are being removed at this point in time.

The game seems balanced better than it was, BC could kill almost any air unit including carrier, now protoss gets tempest to kill it from afar, Zerg takes alot of resources to get their units so the swarm host is nice, its balanced in the sense that all it takes to kill a host is a detector, viper is the only thing that could be overpowered in this

wow this game is getting worst by the second. protoss dosent have carrier they have tempest which sucks cause you can easily kill it with any type of air unit that does anti air cause it takes so long for recharge to shoot. All of terrins new units suck. all they did was let hellions change into robots and that unit war hound can easily be taken out by lings or zealots or marines. The only race getting better is zerg.

I am sad to say that even thou i love terran. i cant stand being screwed so royally in hots i will be changing to toss because zerg is now going to be capable of rubbing there faces on there keyboard and breaking a siege line or just spawning an army of never ending unit flow that attacks both air and ground. But i am looking forward to being toss and using the tempest to shoot at my opponents base from my base with that new 22 range upgrade.

@Fellix: pretty much since the war hound has i dont know like 275 hp ? and thors had 450 ? and did splash so we lose thors and get a unit with same damage ratio and no hp to be able to actually stand up long enough to shoot at the mutas ya this is so balanced

Honestly, I think if they would've kept all of the old units, added 2 or three new ones, it would have made a good game by itself, and if it actually covered some of the old story, this game would be even better.

I'm stoked for the fourth race that they're keeping secret. Its about time they actually added something new to the game, instead of more of the same in a slightly different form.

If they don't add the new race or at least five or six new units per race in addition to the ones they've already announced then SC will be going the way of Diablo.... down the crapper.

@LiquidBlack: I think I just might stick with Wings of Liberty until they fix all the issues already apparent in HoTs. Or maybe I'll just wait until Legacy of the Void comes out and hope that is better. The problem I see is that Zerg gets a massive buff and Terran gets nothing really useful. A warhound. WTF is that crap, what good will that ever do. Especially against zerg. Marauders are already better than the war hound, why bother with it.

@Reaper: Its because they could have and they just decided to go along with what they had, I mean look at the widow mine, over priced has too long to detonate, and its simply a bad version of the baneling... And the viper I have absolutely no idea how they got to the drawing board and didnt think to themselves "So do we really want to make the most annoying OP unit in the whole game"

it looks like fun,
here is my thoughts:

Zerg:
Ultralisks should require burrow to use new ability.
Vipers: i was curious if they can sap hp from buildings being constructed (my concern is that a drone will keep canceling a cheap extractor on the move to power them up.

Toss:
the new capital ship (tempest) need something in addition , like an upgrade to make it more exciting. it doesn't even have to be an upgrade to do more damage, it could be like detection. although my vote for is to let them carry interceptors

Terran seems ok for now, but i don't know how they match up against toss yet. I want to know what warhounds and battle helions are weak against.

They are totally nerfing terran. They should have a building that slows down all enemy units on the map by 75% and reduces their range to one. That's the only way they can make it fair. Lol.

@Artanis: Yeah ok you obviously dont understand why they made such an ability (MMM Executed Pro) think of it in WINGS OF LIBERTY they had to nerf terran cause !@#$ was OP and now they get firebats back there goes all biologocal and buildings

Looks awsome but my main concern is the fog of war hacks that people use often. What news does Blizzard have to tell me as a user what you will do to safegaurd fair play. You have warden but that still does not stop the game hack mods.

@Fellix: calm you f***ing !@#$ man zerg were weak in the first place because some idiots didnt know about fungal growth so this is just adding the fact that seige tanks wont %^-*ing dominate all the time with a wall of vikings behind them
