Heart of the Swarm Update - New Videos

A large number of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm demo stations were featured at the MLG Spring Championship that ran June 8-10, where attendees sat down to see the future of StarCraft II multiplayer first hand. We wanted to share the excitement with players who couldn’t be there in the flesh, so here’s a video featuring the latest updates to the Heart of the Swarm multiplayer units.

@Blitzkrieg: it seems their removing that scheme and keeping the regular Thor, but their also letting Terran keep the Warhound, which doesn't look like it has much purpose anymore...

@RopeMaster: Thor is anti light unit, both, air and ground (although the ground attack is a beast). Warhound has an anti mecanical ground attack (armored), not really sure the AA attack. So no, the roles are different.

If the carrier is really being removed from multiplayer... I don't see how that will *add* to the game, especially since it's already an uncommon sight. I like having the option there.

LMAO! please !@#$ on terran some more!! widow mines timer 10s. GOOD IDEA any retard can take the targeted unit out... and tempests range.... I have no words.... battle hellion isnt that bad though imo at least mass charglots wont be such a problem

Even if the enemy pulls widowed units back, they are removed from combat and will probably die anyway. That is extremely powerful.

Still waiting for a unit that actually infests enemy units. I miss how in SC1 you could infest command centers with your flying queen unit.

@Naland: Would never happen that would be to OP as soon as every zerg new they were facing terran your whole base would be infested and you would lose without being able to put up a fight.

They should make a new death animation for massive flying units. Wouldn't it be cool if, instead of just exploding in mid air, if they had a couple of small explosions/bleeding as they fell from the sky, then they shattered into a bunch of pieces in one final explosion as they hit the ground.

Ghost cloaking should not cost mana coz snipe sucks already Lockdown should be back . Reaper's should get things like spider mines that would be cool . Protoss can teleport back to for early harass and can teleport back so why not make orbital strike for terrans? if not reactor if techlab ...? And in terms of shredder why not make a support unit for terran like if zerg gets funggal then viper >_< why not make a support unit that flies and invisible but visible if skill is on like slows everything that is bio or non armored units and includes your units as well in the area slowed ? in TVP it would be slow zealot on engagement and TVT slow marines engagement !

Why not make a unit for terran to deal w/ engagement such as for death balls like for TVP or TVT ? The Lockdown? Because in TVT TVP = micro intensive right ? Reaper's should cast spider mines like vultures that would be cool but still mirco intensive .. Just imagine a bunch of zealots and stalkers destory your expansion and you counter drop but after he pull all his probes main army just got warped back leaving ur expansion to 0 that would suck !Teleported back to base thats free harrassment from toss why not give terran the orbital strike from campaign ?! To even the odds !? Ghost cloaking should not cost mana coz they snipes sucks already !? right Why not invent a unit that can hold a bunch of bio units zerg got fungal already and now the viper ?! that will change everything ! why not give terrans flash bang to even the odds? haha ! or suggesting the shedder to be a support unit like slows bio units in the area that actually flies and invisible visible if skill is on !? Just imagine in TvT and TVP engagement like zealots are slowed and marines are slowed too! and in TVZ all things is slowed ^_^ V

@RainLord: Dude, they have made a unit for TvT and TvP deathballs. It is the Warhound. It freakin kills mechanical stuff which is basically everything protoss and a fair amount of new stuff that's terran. It also takes 3 minutes for the Mass Recall to recharge. It would also be a big invstment to get a Mothership core so if you see the Protoss getting reccalled just attack.

@Snooze: No, they shouldnt. Think about it, protoss units all require very little skill to control and do lots of damage. See Colossus. The carrier was just another crapy example of why noobs play as Protoss. I admit there are some good Protoss players but, there needs to be more to micro besides the stalker.

@Ark: actually the carrier is not very damage active the fact is if the other person micros even slightly to attack the carriers the carriers would die quickly and the protoss instead of just leaving carriers would be forced to micro his carriers to prevent them from dieing
so you do have to micro more then stalkers if you can prevent the larger units from dieing by moving them out of the way then they can keep damaging them this is how people win with carriers

@Ark: i think they should take out voids cuz they require no micro at all when massed. and they are near invinsable unless you have more voids, a thor or 2, or infestors. they should make a new air unit...something with a slow attack rate but aoe ground dmg. this is all my opinion so dont freak out like its gunna happen, but commedt on my post if u have a different way to manage toss's air force! i dont want a noob who barely understands the game to post back ranting on how stupid my idea is.

@ghost: What you said there was hilariously stupid. Thats like trying to get rid of mutas cause of people who mass them. Mass Voids are easily counterable, so there is no need to remove voids. Terran Counter: Thors (when my teammate masses voids, I need to kill those thors quickly :3). Zerg Counter: Infestors. Just freaking mass Fungal Growth, not a big deal. Protoss Counter: This is where you get me, but can still be countered besides massing more void rays. The way I counter them is massing about 8 - 16 high templars with psionic storm while protecting them with stalkers. Void rays are there for a reason.

@TheWhat: i just listed those...and still how fast does it take 20-30 voids to kill a thor. i agree thors work, but for only the first salvo cuz the firing rate is so slow. i have lost countless 4v4 matches to 1 guy massing voids.

I don't play Terran, but I definitely feel sorry for the guys that do. The battle hellion is good...strange and pointless looking, but good. Mines...Meh their count-down is waaaaaay long. Long enough that they could blow up your defenses if they got that far, however, the concept is a great idea. But the war hound??? WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?? It's effects look amazing...but it is not a pleasant looking unit. I don't say this to be rude, just a random burst of critique. Looks awesome!

I will miss the carrier :(

warhound - combination of Goliath and Thor by the looks
i agree that the mines are way too long, i say they should be 5-7 sec, not 10 we have now
sure they will still kill the one unit they attached to, but for what they cost to blow up on one zergling/zealot/marine?

this isnt meant to be a GG NO MARE TERRAN post, but it does seem that everything is in place to kill terran as a race :(
