IPL 5 this Weekend

IPL 5 this Weekend

After an intense qualification process, the massive player list is finally locked in, and IGN Pro League 5 is set to take place Thursday, November 29 through Sunday, December 2 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

IGN Pro League held months of regional and "satellite" qualifier tournaments that determined who would join the winner of IPL 4, Han 'aLive' Lee Seok, in the main event bracket. Additionally, players from the GSL World Championship, the GSL Season 5 Code S semifinals, and the IPL Team Arena Challenge 3 were given seats at IPL 5. An incredible lineup of 72 pro players has been finalized, and it reads like a "who’s who" of StarCraft II.

Unlike previous IPL seasons, there will be no group stage this weekend. Instead, players will be seeded into a 72-slot, double elimination bracket. As the competitors duel for their share of the $100,000 prize pool, an all-star cast of commentators including Dan 'Artosis' Stemkoski, Nick 'Tasteless' Plott, John 'TotalBiscuit' Bain, and Shaun 'Apollo' Clark, among many others, will narrate every nail-biting game.

You can catch all of the action live by tuning in to IPL’s official stream which starts each day at 10:00 a.m. If you’d like to find out when specific matches will be played, check out the detailed broadcast schedule. Finally, stop by IPL’s forum thread and the IPL 5 portal on to keep up with all of the latest information on the event.

In addition to the thrilling IPL 5 tournament, GOMTV will also be present at Cosmopolitan to broadcast the 2012 GSL World Championship and the 2012 GSL Season 5 Code S semifinals and finals this weekend. The World Championship matches will run at 2PM PST on Saturday and Sunday, while the Code S action will begin at 6PM PST on both Friday and Saturday. Check the broadcast schedule for more details.
