New Battle.net Privacy Settings

We'd like to make you aware of the new Real ID-related privacy options we've introduced to Battle.net. These options provide Real ID users with additional tools for customizing the service based on their preferences, enabling the ability to opt in or out of the Real ID "Friends of Friends" and "Add Facebook Friends" features or to turn off Real ID altogether.

To access these settings, log in to your Battle.net account at http://www.battle.net/account. From there, click on the "Settings" tab located at the center of the Account Management menu and select "Communication Preferences" from the dropdown list. The new settings can be found in the "Privacy" section of the Communication Preferences page.

Guys I can't see my friend though We were playing together for a long time, we both are North America Region.

We weren't playing for like 3 months, and now that we're back in the game.. We only see each other offline !!

I tried to remove him and to add him again but it did not work at all !!

Any Help !!

These things are all great... but, we NEED an "invisible" option!

Don't want this issue to fall off radar but would love "cloaking" mode!!! :-)

As Tom Hanks (Apollo 13) so succinctly stated ... "I am sick and tired of the entire Western world knowing how my kidneys are functioning."

Even though this will make your name and the name of your friends more secure what it doesn't say is that turning it off will dump your whole friends list in SC2...good job finally putting this in blizzard bad job for forcing a dump of the friends list

If the last piece someone needs to steal your identity is YOUR NAME, you've got bigger issues than battle.net revealing it.

I see that I'm far from alone in not wanting my real name broadcast on the net for hackers, identity thieves, etc. It would be great if they could allow blocking some people, for obvious reasons. Anyway, I like the feature of talking across games.

That's pretty spiffy, but what about that character name change that was promised like 3 years ago?

'bout time. I swear blizzard operates in the same weird time-warp business model that the RIAA has developed in which they attempt to alienate as many of their potential customers as possible. They love their short-term gains with zero outlook as to the long term.

You should have to "Opt In" of Real ID. I don't like how its turned on by default.

Yes, thank you Blizzard - you're halfway there.

Now please add a 'nickname' or 'screen name' feature where you can (if you want to) set what name you want to be displayed instead of always having to use the real one. People like me who don't socially go by their legal registered name get tired of seeing it and having it broadcast all over the place.

Good job. Now please add an invisible feature. I have too many friends who want to play with me and sometimes I just want to game with a close friend. It sucks having to verbally reject/ignore my other friends all the time.

What about people I enjoy playing games with that I don't necessarily want to have/know my name? Would love to see a mechanism that I can actually add in-game friends, and be able to communicate cross-game.

Another thing, when are we going to be able to use Real I.D. cross server? ie, between U.S. WoW client -> SEA SC2 Client, i don't really want to play on NA, but i would love for this work as it was originally intended. HOOOOGGGEE oversight on blizzards part. When is this being addressed?

Could you add an "invisible mode" feature, please? I like to play games by myself sometimes. Facebook has it, AOL has it... etc. Thought it'd be a great addition to "Battle.net:The premier online gaming experience."

Please implement an ability to make yourself "un-messagable" in the future. I'd love to log on and just play games. Setting yourself busy still allows for people to message you.
