@doomdude: Lucky! haha. I'm stationed in South Korea, and I was the first one at the PX when the doors opened at 0900 after my shift ended, and there were only 12 regular copies...

@Ben: some people like that random bull!@#$. i think it's pretty cool, and it makes them money for the other games, AND brings in hardcore fans of those games to get the extra stuff, even if they didn't want to get the game itself

Get rid of the WoW and D3 crap and replace it with more SC stuff and i'd be all for spending $40 extra. But seeing as WoW is boring and D3 is terrible, im really asking myself if the mousepad and cosmetics are worth it......nope, they're not. Not even worth $20 for the deluxe. Get the standard, unless you like wasting $40.....

@Ensiferum: Agree. I only play SC2. It seems like they are shooting themselves in the leg by making half the bonus for other games. It's not like this will get people to buy those other games. If you already have them you might be inclined to buy the collectors edition. But there are way more people who would rather have bonus SC2 stuff.

@Ensiferum: I definitely agree with you. I don't desire anything for WoW, and I absolutely loathe D3. So the D3 bonus is actually a turn-off for me. Blizzard should just remove the WoW and D3 bonuses, and offer them separately for those who want them.

@Ensiferum: Couldn't agree more as well. Add some type of limited addition figurine, not content WOW or D3. I'm going for standard because of that.

@Ensiferum: I completely agree. Blizzard should market their collector's editions to that specific game only. I definitely won't buy a collector's edition if it didn't come with enough things for that specific game.

@DRADA: Funny thing is, I'd buy this for an SCII key that runs SC2 off of it. Heck, I'd pay an extra $30 for that. Sadly Blizzard will never allow us to do that >.>

Don't understand why there is WoW and D3 stuff comes with a "Starcraft" collectors edition. Really asses out people who don't play those games. Would have much prefered more Zerg unit skins. Normal edition for me.

@VitalTundra: its simple a blizz thing they do it on all collector editions. if you went wow you got sc2 and d3 stuff. blizz uses its collector ed to branch off toward the other 2 games.

@AznBananaz: Well... it's a marketing technique alright.

But it also saves them money from actually having to do any real work. Two assets they already have fully designed, solely ported to another (barely different) game.

Three Portraits and decals? These must have been done in under a week, I'd be surprised if it honestly took them any longer than that. This is pitiful for a *BlizzarD* title.

Looked at both the Digital Deluxe, and the Collectors. Neither are any good to me. I left WoW to play SCII, and I don't play Diablo. Give it a week maybe two, and I will be able to download all the digital media from PB. Only thing practical is the game. I'm just spending the $40 for Swarm.

I'd have to agree with some of the people commenting on the lack of a figurine. It is nice and all with all the extras, but the lack of something EXCLUSIVE is quite dull. Either way, I do enjoy the story and game. I Hope that Blizzard will consider the option of an actual item..... next time...

@AmiliusV: I agree, I would much rather have a Baneling figure to put on my desk than something in WoW (as I stopped playing WoW a looooong time ago) the other collector's edition stuff look/sound interesting though, especially the blu-ray/dvd stuff but since my laptop is being a butt and not playing blu-rays I think I'm gonna pass on the physical collector's edition this time 'round, I think I will get the digital one though, more for the extra portraits than anything else (since I don't play WoW or Diablo 3)

I'll learn my lesson & get the collector edition this time, the standard box you can always get it later for $20, but not the collector edition because they never go down in price, plus those extras look good, just hope that the mousepad is not made out of cheap material so I can actually use it.

in WoL... it was $100... 40 more, but we got a specially designed USB key and SC 1&2, that was worth $20 alone.

Now I look at the physical set for $80... nothing is worth that much in here.. art book? woo. Soundtrack with only 11 songs? Woo.

Nothing worth it this time.

As much as I'd love a figuring it's really unfair to act like that's standard. Art book + soundtrack is the definitive standard across pc and consoles for a special edition. Figures are sick but I can't remember the last time I got one with a special edition. Sc2, D3, WoW... none of those came with a figure. This isn't something new from Blizz and it isn't against the grain of the rest of the industry.
