It's an average day in your small colony on Mar Sara. You're well defended from the Raiders, and all is well. Your Cul-de-sac of a town is doing well. You're wandering around one day, on the way to Jimmy's Armory, when suddenly, a vulture skims by your face. Dust picks up, knocking you back. Several other vultures zoom past you through the other entrance. You're shocked, dumbstruck even. The funny thing is, these aren't raiders, they wear the blue paint of the Adjutants Marshall Force. What are they doing here, you think to yourself. As you get back on your feet you notice the vultures are now patrolling the two entrances and that marines with the same blue paint march in. What's going on?!
You then find yourself in shadow. You look up and see a command center, two barracks as well as some other miscellaneous military modules floating overhead. You run, not wanting to get crushed, and your fellow colonists do the same. You run into your house and hide yourself from the earth shattering landing noises and the marine forces. After about an hour of being inside you go outside to see that this military force has set up bunkers and started mining out of your abandoned vespene geyser and your mineral supply cache. You wander around, wondering what's going on. A marine stops you on your way to the command center. "What are you doing out here, get back insid---" His voice is interrupted by gunfire and a shriek. He turns to the side, gun in hand to see a zerg pounce one of his troops. Hydralisk spikes fly, and zergling claws tear. "Fall back!" Is all you can make out in the chaos of the invasion. The marine starts to escort you back to your house running, when a mutalisk flies overhead and snatches him up. His insides rain upon you. You continue to run, heading back to your house and about halfway there, your house is engulfed in fire. You look up to see dropships with red markings over head, dropping down troops and picking up civilians. More zerg pour out of the two entrances. You run towards a dropship when suddenly you're pounced on by a zergling. You black out.
You wake up, a dead zergling on top of you. You're covered in purple blood. Around you is creep, larvae and all sorts of tiny zerg bugs. Looking around you see a hatchery, as well as several infested sprawling around. You are terrified, the creep surrounding you and the infested sprawling towards you. You are ready to die. Then, out of nowhere, several bullets fly into the infested's heads. Three men run up next to you, lift the zergling off of you and pick you up. They run you into a nearby building. Inside are the other survivors. "We don't have much time." One of them says. "What do we do. . ." Another whimpers. A gun cocks in the background. "We get off this planet."
Welcome to my first roleplay in awhile. I've wanted to do this idea for awhile. So some ground rules. Keep in mind you're a civilian colonist, you aren't a super man so no being op. Not restricting you to what you can be. If you want to be a guy who uses a gun, just keep that in mind when creating your backstory. You can be a human or a protoss, keeping in mind a protoss won't start in the exact same area, just nearby. You can't be a zerg, for obvious reasons. (Unless you want to be a changeling, just ask me). I intend to make this very survival esque, so keep management in mind. If I say you find something, unless I say otherwise, there is only one of it. So keep in mind you fellow rpers and settle things as a group. You're a team.
In terms of character creation, you can be a terran, in which case you're a civilian of the Cul-De-Sac. Now when I say civilian I'm not trying to restrict you, you can be anything you want, just keep in mind you lived in this place, and where a member of this society. You can be a chef, a guard, one of the militaries defense force, whatever. You can be a protoss, in which case you'll be part of a squad who were sent down to try to eliminate the zerg. Only restriction for you is you have to be a gateway unit. (With the exception of an immortal or a pilot if you want to know how to fly a scout or any protoss ship.) In terms of being a zerg, you can be a changeling or a potentially a sentient zerg like a queen. Keep in mind you'll be working for the zerg, not the terrans if you do this.
In terms of gear, if you're a terran (unless you're a guard or militant) will have generic clothing (unless you have a backstory reason why you'd have any form of armor) and not much else. Supplies you as the entire terran group have are; A Gauss Rifle with 56 bullets, seven packs of rations, two flashlights, a Mapcorder (a device that tracks the terrain as you explore it), a basic EMP device (works like it does in the game), three backpacks, a kukri, dermal mender (The Medic's Heal tool), and a laser saw. If you're a protoss, you'd have what your units would have, and pilots have zealot armor. Everyone has a shield generator. As a group, you have a prototype Psionic Sword device, which is a large powerful Dark Templar Sycthe Esque weapons. You also have three mind flay devices, which explode zergs brains within a 50 meter radius. They take 10 minutes to set up though. In terms of zerg, you have everything a zerg would, because you're part of the hatchery.
