Another reason do not bother to play MP games against other players, due to cheating, hacking, using trainers like those from cheathappens who they claim they do not use for MP games and yet brag about using trainers and not getting banned..

Will play against AI or in CO-OP game but never against other players who may or may not be cheaters, been IMHO experience that pvp brings out the worst in players since no one likes to lose and it is unfortuantly a I MUST WIN AT ALL COSTS Mentality that goes on...

I'd say you're cheating yourself out of a fun experience, but you seem like someone ill-suited to (even fair) competition anyway.

What is a "trainer" in this context?

A program that hacks the game to give you things. Depending on the game the things received may be more or less legitimately obtainable.

i would go so far as to say that the only real "hacks" are vision/production ones, money/unit/building hacks don't and can't exist in multiplayer...

Hey all!

I've heavily moderated this thread where applicable. That said, I'd like to address the OP's concern.

Cheating undermines the very nature of competitive StarCraft 2, and we do everything in our power to eliminate it. It's frustrating to play against a cheater, and while we don't blame anyone for voicing their frustrations, we do look forward to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Recently, we've taken numerous actions based on replays people have submitted:

There have been some on Reddit as well:

http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/217185/i_found_a_map_hacker_replay_in_comments_if_youre/

http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/223j7p/is_this_guy_a_map_hacker_overzealous/

All suspicious replays can be e-mailed directly by you, our players, to Hacks@Blizzard.com. Nevertheless, we carefully watch the forums and community sites for places where we can offer aid.

We all want to make this game as healthily competitive as possible. Please continue offering the help that you all have so far, and if you opt to log in and make a post based on frustration, know that we all understand. Just... remember to post your replay too ;)

Thanks again for your support in this issue Arkitas, and the rest of the CM team. Perhaps we could have a sticky thread for hackers (similar to TL)? Seems like the CMs have greater pull in getting the hackers to their rightful bans, as opposed to just e-mails hacks@blizzard.com. I've tried and never saw any results.

Okay it's official. Arkitas is awesome.

@Arkitas
Thanks for keeping up with the communities concerns on the sensitive issue. No one likes to be cheated against and I remember not too long ago some people were frustrated and felt that hackers didn't ever get punished for hacking.

Thanks again! I hope to see you around the forums some more! :D

90% of hackers i meet are terrible at the game and i win anyway. I know is painful to lose to them though.

ingame, if i report someone, do humans even see the reports?
and if so are they able to watch the replay or do anything to investigate?

Hey Arkitas.

I have a couple of questions, just out of curiosity. Would you recommend to send our complains directly to that email you just gave, or does making a new thread on the forums the way to go? Does one take priority over other one?

Personally, I think sending an email seems to be more confidential and doesn't spam the forums with a new thread every time people think they found a hacker/cheater.

Also, I believe it would be a great idea to be able to attach our replays of someone we believe is hacking through the "report player" option inside the game.

Attaching a replay would be far more simpler than trying to describe what happened during our games. If a Picture is worth a thousand words, imagine what attaching a replay would do :D

I get called a hacker particularly in TvT, probably because I have a very good sense of my own race and will understand how many places at once my opponent can defend depending on their opener of choice, if their choice of BO is defensive, so I have to drop, their build was offensive so when I deflect it I can go head long when they try to defend it.

I just feel I have really good understanding of TvT in comparison to my other match ups and I get called a hacker in about 40% of my games

Is there an answer to this question?

And this seems to be a better solution then emailing Hacks@Blizzard.com

Hey all,

So Blue asked:

E-mailing hacks@blizzard.com has priority and they do take all e-mails seriously. There is an inherent investment in sending an e-mail. You took the time to make one, so they know you mean business if they get one.

That said, speaking to in-game reports:

Yes SauronZerg, humans absolutely see in-reports. Concerning the process behind in-game reports though, I'd have to speak to our hacks team about what we are able to divulge.

With all of the interest here, and the numerous threads we've seen on hacking, I'd like to go ahead and collaborate with our hacks team to bring you an in-depth post about our anti-hacking efforts. Look for it soon™

.. but really, it shouldn't take long ;)

Thanks again for always rockin' the socks off StarCraft <3

This sounds awesome.

It's probably not intentional, but sometimes it feels like it picks up when there are some really public complaints, then people get busy with other stuff. :P
