Blizzard Downloader troubleshooting
If you are having issues downloading the game from our website, please first delete the file you've downloaded, and redownload the latest download manager from http://www.battle.net/ and try again. If that doesn't help, please try the steps below:
Step 1)
Please open up Internet Explorer and make sure that "Work Offline" is not checked, and that Internet Explorer has normal access to the internet. Our downloader uses the default Windows settings, which Internet Explorer also uses.
You may also need to double check your proxy settings for Internet Explorer. This can be done by launching that browser, choosing "Tools" then "Internet Options". From there, go to the "Connections" tab and click the "LAN Settings" button. Look for a checkbox labeled "Automatically detect settings." If it is clear, check it. If it was checked, clear it. If you have a proxy set up and the downloader is not working, you may wish to remove it. After removing the proxy setting, you will need to download a new StarCraft 2 Beta downloader from http://www.battle.net/account/
Step 2)
You may need to verify you are using an Administrator account. To find out which user accounts are marked as Administrator accounts with Windows XP, please see the instructions below:
-Click Start > Control Panel and look for an icon called User Accounts.
-Double click this and it should bring up a list of users on your computer.
-Find the user account that matches your user name and have a look in the group column, it may say administrator, power user or user. This is what type of account you are logged on with. Make sure the one you are using is listed as an administrator.
In order to set the downloader as Administrator Mode with Windows Vista/7, please follow the steps below:
1. Right click on the Blizzard Downloader file.
2. Select "Run as Administrator"
Creating a new user account might also resolve the issue. For instructions on how to create a new user account, Microsoft's site contains guides for each Operating System:
Windows XP:
Windows Vista/7 - Please follow the instructions for setting up a new user account on a workgroup, not a domain:
Step 3)
Sometimes power cycling your modem, router, and computer can help clear up these issues. Please power off the computer through the normal shut down process, and, leaving the computer off, find the power cord for your router and modem, and remove the power for about 60 seconds, making sure all the lights turn off. Once the lights on all your routers and modems have been off for about 1 minute, plug them back in and wait for the lights to stabilize. Once the lights are stable, turn the computer back on, delete the download manager, redownload it, and try again.
Step 4)
Next, you may have some security software loaded on the computer which may be blocking the application from connecting to the internet. Often times, simply disabling the security software may not allow the download manager to connect still. You will want to review your security software's documentation to make sure that the download manager has proper access to the internet.
If you have ever had security software, but have since removed it, remnants of it may remain behind. You may wish to try running the Norton Removal Tool or the McAfee Removal Tool to make sure those two products remove properly. Their links are below:

Please keep in mind that the Blizzard Downloader uses port 3724. Other ports, like 6881-6999 may be used but they're not required. If your firewall blocks port 3724 or you do not have a rule set up, you may want to make one so that your download goes a bit faster.
The game uses ports 1119 and 1120 TCP. Forwarding these ports is not required in most cases but if you have a special setup, you may want to set up those rules.
If you do not know how to set up your router, please check http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=10863439009&sid=3000

Blizzard downloader is a torrent.

The only way for my guest to get full speed on a torrent is to throttle his upload speed instead of saturating it. There's no option to do that though.

Downloading at ~100 KB/s, usually the speed is ~700 KB/s.

Is there any other way to download the game?

I've gone through all the above steps, and it still doesn't download. It's stuck at zero percent, which is weird because it was working just fine yesterday (running retail version). The same thing happened after I installed the beta - stuck at zero percent, sometimes a crash message appears and says that the Blizzard Downloader encountered an error. All my ports are forwarded (I even tried enabling DMZ - which basically means forward all ports), Windows Firewall is disabled, and I have never installed an anti-virus or third party firewall on this installation of Windows. A full power cycle didn't help either. I'm an Administrator (even clicking Run As Administrator didn't help). I'm running Windows 7 x64.

EDIT: Never mind, the Repair utility took care of it. Handy little tool!

Im getting the following error:

The patch "pc-game-hdfiles\StarCraft II Editor.exe" could not be applied. (MD5 mismatch: expected 0x6E21EE5A7B1D755819D09B2B7505896D, actual 0x128F1DE5D104660FE604E0F8DC6B44B5.)(PTCApply_BSDiff failed.) Please implement a way for us to manually throttle our upload speeds. That will fix every single problem I've ever had with the downloader.

My launcher is stuck in an infinite loop. It shows a brief splash screen with "Launcher Connecting to Patch Server" and then the screen goes black for a second (as though the game is starting) and then it gives me an error message which says "StarCraft II requires a patch. Would you like to download and install the patch now?" If I click OK it sends me to the "Launcher Connecting to Patch Server" splash screen and repeats the process ad infinitum.

Unforunately, whatever you did to the launcher it now no longer produces useful connection information. The log entry just looks like this:

Just looking for a way to install the game on my other computer that doesn't currently have an eth card to connect to the internet, on my laptop atm and I do have a valid key, and all the above, since of course I'm able to post in these forums.

All that I want to do is play the campaign offline until I am able to receive my ethernet card via mail.

Help I keep getting this: "This download is not authorized."
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6951/sc2error.jpg

Edit: I have a 64bit Windows 7 machine, with an NVidia Card. Also, every time I try to open the downloader, it starts to download the files, instead of asking for the folder to download to.

Yea... this is the third message I've gotten after it told me to re-install cause a file was corrupted and now this..

" The file "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\Base.SC2Data : BattlenetCache\(2)NoviceSteppesofWar.SC2Map\0c09c2ab0f2243e3b0cef68a285e6ab83845f51e51d9cefb8acba2030f69fd0b.s2ma" could not be written. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (MPQTarget::Write/SFileWriteFile) "

My updater downloads patch 1.0.2 only up to 70%, but it then says that there is 0.0 kbs remaining. I then get an error saying

Windows - disk not found
Exception Processing Message etc etc.

it says the patch it 40.2 mb, is this correct or no?

I am attempting to download to my win 7 PC, but I get the error:

"There was a problem authenticating your download...."

I have downloaded it to my Mac with no issue, but, no matter how many times I try to redo the download, I get the same error message.

I took a look at the log and the last thing it has listed is:

" No UPnP Device Found" What does this mean?
