Processors These are more of generalizations. * Athlon processors do not meet the system requirements. They're the old Thunderbird models and go up to 1.2 GHz. * Athlon XP processors with a rating of 2200+ and above will meet it. * Athlon 64 processors tend to meet it. The very low-end Athlon 64 models (energy efficient models ending in e) may not. Check your clock speeds. Anything at or higher than 2.2GHz is a safe bet. * For Sempron types, you'll want a higher clock speed to make up for it lacking in other areas. Sempron processors exists across Socket 478-AM2 so you may want to see what type you have using CPU-Z. http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php * First generation AMD Phenom processors (ending in 00) will work but you need to be aware of the TLB fix. It has a pretty substantial performance drop so you might see choppiness. All but the slowest models will meet the system requirements * Athlon II and Phenom II should all be faster than the minimum requirements. * Pentium III processors do not meet the requirements * Pentium IV/D processors at 2.6GHz and above meet it. * Intel Core 2 around 1.8GHz is a rough area but should be able to play it at low settings. 2.4GHz is the recommended number. * Intel Celeron processors fall under a lot of different families of chips and sockets. There are those based off of the Pentium 4 of different types and those based off of Core 2. You may want to check what type you have using CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php * Intel i3/i5/i7 desktop processors exceed the minimum requirements. Laptop models under 2.4 GHz fall under the system requirements. Video card We require a GeForce 6600 or Radeon 9800 video card in terms of performance. Keep in mind that there are higher-numbered video cards that fall under what we need. Probably the best chart you can look at is available on Tom's Hardware: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-geforce-gtx-480%2c2598-6.html The GeForce 6600 and Radeon 9800 are towards the lower half of the chart. If your video card is under it, that's not a good thing. If your video card is above it, that's good. Some of the more common ones that are under the system requirements: NVIDIA GeForce 6150, 6200, 7150, 8300, 8400, 9100, 9300 ATI Radeon Xpress 200, 1150, 1250, X1050, 8500-9600, X300-600 All Intel GMA adapters minus the one in the i3/i5 chips. would a GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card run the game ok? And what graphics range would i be looking at it (with little to no lag)? Or Should i buy a little better graphics card?(looking to go as cheap as possible thats why I came to this)

Do the recommended settings allow to run the game on Ultra? Reccomended usually covers what you need to run the game at medium settings at a consistent framerate im pretty sure. |

would a GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DDR2 PCI Graphics Card run the game ok? And what graphics range would i be looking at it (with little to no lag)? Or Should i buy a little better graphics card?(looking to go as cheap as possible thats why I came to this)PCI automatically disqualifies it from running ok. World of Warcraft and StarCraft II requires a lot of data bandwidth that PCI cannot provide. |

kk thanks i was in the wrong section =/ didnt mean PCI Ill look for a better graphics card anyways tho
currently running the game on a crappy gforce 6150 nforce 430 so its for sure time for improvement =) |

Having a problem running the game with minimum settings.
In advance, I apologize for the fact that I'm trying to play a game on a laptop but recent years haven't allowed much gaming time and I need a laptop for work, so it's only made sense to make the attempt. Specs are as follows: Sony VGN-NW350F * PROCESSOR: Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 / 2.2 GHz * VIDEO: Chipset Type Mobile Intel GM45 Express - Available memory: 1759 MB * CACHE: 2 MB L2 cache * RAM: 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM - 800 MHz * OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition The game suggests I shut down any other programs. However, I do not have any programs overtly running in the background. That said, I do have some of Sony's bloatware running, I'm sure, as I've not had time to go through and clean the computer up and I'm not sure what to turn off. Any help is appreciated. Also, if anyone is aware of a program that will quickly clean off the bloatware, it would be helpful. Computer is currently using minimal processor when idling but does use upward of 25% of RAM when idling. Thanks! |

@ Sirk - your 9100 is under minimum requirements.
@ Schwin - Your Intel GMA 4500 is under system requirements @ Hexagram - You should be able to access Offline Mode if you log onto your Battle.net account and then exit the game. Disconnect from the internet and try logging onto the same battle.net account again. It'll stay that way for 30 days but this is the wrong thread to post this issue in. |

Do the recommended settings allow to run the game on Ultra? the game defaulted to ultra settings upon install, for me. I double checked every setting and it indeed had maxxed everything out. |

Would this handle it? Spotted it on Craigslist at an affordable price and might just go pick it up if it will. I know the processor's a little bit on the low end. I used to know a little something about computers but I just haven't been able to keep up with them over the last 4 years.

I know this may not be the best place to post this, but not being all that savvy with hardware I wanted some quick input. I'm looking at potentially getting this machine:

AMD 2.6ghz(duel core)
4GB DDR2 325g Hard Drive i just ordered Radeon HD 4650 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP. is PCI and PCI express different than what has been stated above or does this fall under all forms of PCI? will my comp be able to run this smoothly with these specs? *as of now its not but i was hoping with the new card that would change* --edit-- nevermind video card chart ftw. this just made my day. thx |

My computer specs exceed the recommended settings and yet the game barely runs on bare minimum settings. The game did run on High-Ultra settings during Beta Phase 1 however. I have already updated the drivers for the graphic card, and changed all its settings to high performance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im having problems running starcraft 2 on my laptop...I have a Geforce 9800m GS with an Intel core 2 duo 2.13GHz p7450. Now the movies in game are blacking out and the game is choppy. I just need to know if their something I need to fix or what? My laptop can handle Crysis on high settings so figured my laptop should be able to handle this.
