I came across this sometime back during beta, I've updated it a touch with better formatting, let me know if I'm missing out on anything!

It would be nice to have this INSIDE the game help system. and mapped to the translations as well (i'm having some issues with basic action keyboard shortcuts overlapping..)

If you can could you also include the hot keys for some more units. Battlecruiser for example has a couple of hotkeyed attacks that are REALLY useful. Press Y for the yamato cannon.

It may not be worth editing (you can decide this, OPer), but I noticed you had "X = Tech Lab and C = Reactor" on the Barracks and the Factory, but not the Starport.
Just an observation. Great list, but like someone mentioned it could be even deeper, going even into individual units and their abilities. With some clever formatting (perhaps using browser's "find" feature to quickly jump around sections) it could really take shape and be an even more useful reference tool. :) |
why is the maurder and medivac hotkeys both "d"? Because D is on the left side of the keyboard. You'll notice most of the SC2 hotkeys are in the same area so you can avoid having to search for the key. This is a big difference between SC1 & SC2 hotkeys. and definitely took me some getting used to, not hitting 'P' for probe, or 'M' for marine. I remember reading there was a classic setting for SC1 vet's but I decided I would just learn the new keys. |
Is there a way to zoom out farther then the default settings? If so, how? There isn't as far as I know and it's a real setback as far as I'm concerned. I played supreme commander 2 from its release until start craft 2 came out (why are they both RTS's with SC!), and I got very accustomed to being able to zoom out a much greater distance, when playing macro it really helps, so for the longest time I would try to zoom out at the start of every game, possible change in the next game? As far as hotkeys I have to agree that same letter hotkeys are a real nuisance. As a helpful trick that would make micro much quicker to someone with skill, having all different hotkeys for abilities would let you memories them, and allow you to use all your units abilities without switching between groups, this would be exceptionally helpful in areas such as the psionic assault challenge. |
