Hey archer, is there anyway you could help with my problem?
I've posted below the same thing i wrote in my own post on this forums. after receiving ZERO help from anyone--including blizzard--i found this post.
my original post:
Today I received my new computer and got all the programs set up, with the exception of starcraft 2. I'm currently at college and foolishly forgot the installation CD at home. My instincts told me to download it off battle.net, so I tried that first. I got the sc2 blizzard downloader off battle.net, ran it, and couldn't get even 1% downloaded. I found this strange since my new pc updated world of warcraft fine (although i did have the wow files from my old pc's /c drive transferred onto an external hard drive).
From there I went to the blizzard downloader trouble shooting guides and followed the steps. I added the ports 3724 and 6112 to my exceptions, as well as 6881-6999, following the guide as best as possible. However, I'm using the newest version of norton and the trouble shooting FAQ was for norton 2005, so that might still need fixing.
I tried the downloader again without success, so i read the help FAQ on this forum and followed the instructions. Ive tried running the downloader as the administrator and I still can't get it to even BEGIN downloading.
Is there anything else I can do? I thought about downloading a copy from a non-blizz site, but I figured I should try here first before I download anything bad. Does anyone know of trustable mirrors to download the installer tomes from?
Thanks for the help guys--this is pretty frustrating.
If anyone is wondering, here is a vague run-down of my new computers' specs:
- 8GB memory
- Intel Core i7
- 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570
- 600 or so GB of hard drive space
It's pretty top of the line for a lap top, so it should be running sc2 fine."
I hope you can help me man! perhaps there is somewhere i could download the installation files w/o using a torrent like program? thanks a lot for anything!
Okay so these are my specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.00GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 1028MB DDR2 RAM
Mem:Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory(4GB Installed)
OS: Windows XP 32 bit Service Pack 3
The issue that I am having is that my game is running at 2-4FPS and I have emailed Blizzard and co-responded with an employee about fixing the issue. I updated everything as they indicated and still it runs at 2-4 FPS. I even attempted a Selective Startup and still there is no improvement. Something tells me that I should overclock but I don't know how to since Ive never OC before, and I don't want to screw my computer. I have also tried running Starcraft 2 by itself and there is no improvement as well. Yet a friend of mine is also running Core 2 Duo and he has none of these issues. Does anyone have a solution to this?
Kain check the mouse section here
Legendary can you create a thread and link it here. Also download hwmonitor and post in that thread what your temps are when you are getting the low fps.
Actually the issue is solved. Just needed a new heat sink
Here are two links, one is not so much support but more of a aquisition type of thing,
This one isnt so much priority, its more of a "Please fix.."
