Here is a list of every unit and it's most cost effective counter based on my opinion (which involved lots and lots of games and testing). If you think a counter can be improved, please say so and I will be sure to record it.

I will be seperating the list into a few specific categories: Terran, Zerg, Protoss, Tier 2, and Heroes. I hope this guide helps both beginners and veterans!

Please note that these counters only account for single waves, not combinations of units. I will be going over optimal combinations in another post.

I. Terran

1 x Marine: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Reaper: Counter with 1 x Roach.
1 x Ghost: Counter with 1 x Roach.
1 x Mule: Counter with 2 x Baneling or 1 x High Templar.
1 x Marauder: Counter with 2 x Zergling.
1 x Hellion: Counter with 1 x Stalker or 1 x Roach.
1 x Vulture: Counter with 1 x Hellion.
1 x Diamondback: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Siege Tank: Counter with 2 x Zergling.
1 x Viking: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Wraith: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Banshee: Counter with 1 x Mutalisk or 1 x Phoenix.

II. Zerg

1 x Zergling: Counter with 1 x Baneling or 1 x Zealot.
1 x Baneling: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Roach: Counter with 1 x High Templar.
1 x Queen: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Aberration: Counter with 1 x High Templar.
1 x Hydralisk: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Ultralisk: Counter with 1 x High Templar.
1 x Lurker: Counter with 1 x Immortal.
1 x Infestor: Counter with 1 x Banshee.
1 x Scourge: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Mutalisk: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Corruptor: Counter with 1 x High Templar.

III. Protoss

1 x Zealot: Counter with 1 x Baneling.
1 x Stalker: Counter with 2 x Zergling.
1 x High Templar: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Vindicator: Counter with 2 x Baneling.
1 x Archon: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Dark Templar: Counter with 1 x Baneling.
1 x Immortal: Counter with 2 x Zergling.
1 x Rip-Field Prism: Counter with 1 x Vindicator or 1 x Archon.
1 x Colossus: Counter with 1 x Corruptor,
1 x Phoenix: Counter with 2 x Marine.
1 x Scout: Counter with 2 x Marine
1 x Void Ray: Counter with 2 x Marine.

IV. Tier II*

1 x Sadistic Assassin: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
1 x Infernos Berserker: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Thor: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
1 x Battlecruiser: Counter with 1 x Viking.
1 x Skysplitter Demon: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
1 x Apocalypse Beast: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Infested Terran: Counter with 2 x Baneling.
1 x Guardian: Counter with 2 x Corruptor.
1 x Final Seraphim: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
1 x Doomsday Monolith: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
1 x Sentry: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
1 x Disruptor: Counter with 2 x Dark Templar.
*A lot of the counters are Dark Templar, this is because they do 150|+200vMA.

V. Heroes*

1 x Universal Soldier: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Hel's Angel: Counter with 3 x Void Ray.
1 x Sanguineous Predator: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Exemplary Sniper: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Odin: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Unstable Gem: TBD.
1 x Queen of Blades: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Leviathan: TBD.
1 x Ultima Paladin: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Almighty Mage: TBD.
1 x Golden Falcon: Counter with 3 x Void Ray.
1 x Black Prelate: TBD.
1 x Decrepit Adjutant: Counter with 3 x Dark Templar.
1 x Terra-Tron: TBD.
1 x Uberlisk: Counter with 4 x Void Ray.
1 x Diablo: TBD.
1 x Patriarch: Counter with 5 x Dark Templar.
1 x Mothership: TBD.
1 x Mystic Titan: TBD.
*A lot of these counters may not be the most efficient (or complete for that matter), as I have not had a chance to experiment much.

As I mentioned above, if you feel you have a better/more efficient counter, please post it!

I haven't played it in a long time, but a lot of this sounds bad.

BTW, what actor model (unit model) does the Diablo hero use?

Its in the campaign depandancy. "Diablo, Lord of terror"

I see some flaws... like why not counter field prisms with 1X marines?

why not counter mules with zerglings...hydras... marines... void rays...?

I'm using the Hybrid Reaver model for Diablo because the "Diablo, Lord of Terror" model doesn't have many animations :(

Rip-Field Prisms do aoe damage especially effective against light armor units. Of course each unit has multiple counters, but I try to take into account cost efficiency.. also I'm pretty sure Mules would kill Hydralisks and Marines.

WTF?!?!?! O.o????

Marauders are NOT countered by zerglings bro.

I'm not sure what single wave they're countered by but It's definetely NOT zerglings. OTHER WAY AROUND MAN!!!

However if the enemy every spawns up Marauders and Ghosts I reply with Mules and Ghost. It works.

hydras counter all armored units alone.... like ultras banshees void rays tanks stalkers, you name it... and a combo for the ghost marauder combo would either be vindicators and hydras or another one which i forgot haha

What kills the hero combo with the two large archons and the the guy with the whip?? i aways die to that. One time i was successful with the help of my teammate.

Honestly though, counters are irrelevant in bc since the start of hyper.

Your counters should be composed of a combination of these units, not purely for efficiency, but for counterattacking purposes.

Lurker or festor
+ Viking
+ mules/vins as needed

Ghosts and queens also when its called for.

A reply to the Patriarch question about how to beat it, all u need are IMMORTALS, regular SENTRIES from the mega units, and the DARK PRELATE hero. That is the most cost efficient counter that I use. The sentries take reduced spell dog so they are good for fodder, and the dark prelate hero has EMP when attacking psionic units.

I am currently working towards my 3rd crown rating, and am still learning new things, this game is intense and always keeps me on edge. I am still trying to learn what all the STATS mean in the game. I know the first RP is rounds played, and RW is rounds won, but can someone enlighten me on what the others mean?

Best cost efficient counter for Marauder/Ghost, is vindicators first till the ghosts pop a few of their heads off, then send one set of lings to rush the marauders. 300 mineral counter to 350.

The correct counters are these

. Terran

1 x Marine: Counter with 1 x zergling
1 x Reaper: Counter with 1 x Roach.
1 x Ghost: Counter with 1 x vindicator
1 x Mule: Counter with 2 x Baneling or 1 x High Templar.
1 x Marauder: Counter with 1 x stalker
1 x Hellion: Counter with 1 x Stalker
1 x Vulture: Counter with 1 x ghost
1 x Diamondback: Counter with 1 x ultra
1 x Siege Tank: Counter with 2 x Zergling.
1 x Viking: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Wraith: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Banshee: Counter with 1 x marine or 1 x stalker

II. Zerg

1 x Zergling: Counter with 1 x Baneling
1 x Baneling: Counter with 1 x Ghost or another bane
1 x Roach: Counter with 1 x High Templar.
1 x Queen: Counter with 1 x Siege Tank.
1 x Aberration: Counter with 2 x zergling
1 x Hydralisk: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Ultralisk: Counter with 1 x High Templar or 1 x tank
1 x Lurker: Counter with 1 x Immortal or 1 x vulture
1 x Infestor: Counter with 1 x vindicator
1 x Scourge: Counter with 1 x archon
1 x Mutalisk: Counter with 1 x Ghost.
1 x Corruptor: Counter with 1 x High Templar.

III. Protoss

1 x Stalker: Counter with 2 x Zergling.

V. Tier II*
