any tips on how to stop the protoss from capping the gas for the achievement?

After you've interrupted the toss from capping, are they unable to try to recap that gas again?

First off, for me, Goliaths were absolutely worthless. Create a ball of Marines and Medics, which are pretty quick and destroys everything en mass. Plus, voids rays at full charge cannot kill a marine that is being healed by a medic with the heal research upgrade. The protoss can, and will try to recap some gas points, so I'd suggest capping points fast. If you have a sizable army, you can even try double capping, which is pretty difficult if you don't micro properly.

Focus only on recapping. Then get lots of vikings, siege tanks, and mmms, and then just blow up their base. They can't cap if they can't build anything.

They have two choke points outside their base, seal them off with bunkers and siege tanks.

I dont have seige or vikings.

I got down to 1 more left. Unfortunately my autosave gives me about 10 seconds before a few voids, scouts, zealots and a collsi roll into my base :( with my army too far out to respond.

There's 4 easy to the west, and 2 to the north. I think I'll have to D up the 4 and save them. Unfortunately I got to the point where they were double capping. I had to run thru cannons and stalkers just to get my mnm there intime to kill the probes.

You need to hurry up. You should never let them get to a point when they're double capping.

It's a hard line, but I found the easiest way was just to steal the gases like a madman. I don't think I stopped more then 2-3 caps before it was over.

I will have to try to work faster. I figured the more gas I stole early the harder they would work to cap the remaining. So I went slower and built a large force that could cap gas 1 after another.

I couldn't handle this one on Hard without the Medic upgrades. I came back to it after I got enough credits to buy them. That and Perdition turrets help a lot with base defense while your M&M ball is off catastrophizing some other part of the map.

You can skip this mission and do the others to get better tech and units. Like siege tanks and vikings.

An other way to do the mission is destroy the protoss base

What difficulty are you playing?

Concentrate on keeping the seven Geysers you need uncapped and don't worry about the rest.

This mission is actually my favorite brutal mission because of the challenge. The best way to go about it is macro. When you take out the base near the north, gotta expand. Place down a lot of defenses around it such as turrets and bunkers. I had about 20 some goilaths, 50 marines and 5 medics all wiping out the protoss.

The main thing is all about macro, scv's repairing, medics healing and taking out the escorts. Just keep the troops alive and make sure you expand. I had over 3000 minerals and 1000 gas in reserve after I maxed out my troops without a single altar taken over.

I get why people have trouble with this mission because they do not expand or hold the expansion all that well. But making 2x income is worth it because you can replace the troops lost, repair the goilaths, make more production buldings and all that.

If there's a EZ-button for this one, I don't know what it is. I do know where the EZ-button for Supernova is.

Later tech. Wraiths and banshees with science vessels. That is the only way to cheese it. This mission really focuses on macro management for the most part. The only other thing would be to wait for tanks. Set them up to where they cover the altars and place a few bunkers/turrets around the tanks. Then it's just taking your sweet time getting the rest of the altars for yourself.

Just completed Welcome to the Jungle on brutal and it made me want to kill myself. 56 minute completion time, ran out of minerals at orig base and expo.

There is a speed-strategy that wins in a ridiculously short time. I was not able to do it anywhere close to the time in the video but I did manage to get it to work for me in a fashion.

It basically involves starting immediately with the three geysers on the left and then getting to the four on the right and going all in on the last one - even moving the command center from the starting base so it's closer for the SCV's.

This is one of the missions that makes it prudent to use a multiple-path strategy for getting all of the brutal achievement requirements. You're going to have to play something with low-tech and it's probably going to be this or the Great Train Robbery. It's just easier to play one on a lower level and come back to a save and play missions in a different order to get the good technology to play the mission on brutal that you played on the lower level the first time through.
