Authorized Language Pack?
|
I own both the standard LA version and the English CE version, but apparently I can't play on both servers. When I try to log into my other account, it says I need an "authorized language pack". What should I do? Is there a fix for this at the time? I like to play the game on its original language, but I did still pay a little extra to play with my friends as well, so I'd expect i don't have to reinstall whenever I want to play my other account.

This is really wrong... I bought the LA version of the game because its my region and it would lag less but I've always played the game in English! I just want the client to be English, so that i can use the same hot keys I've always used, hear the non translated sounds and also be able to connect to the servers which lag less! People are buying two versions of the game just so they can do this and they can't even though they paid twice as much! This is not right....

I feel the English servers are more competitive, so I would have bought both anyway. It's the fact that I can't have both installed what's pissing me off. They wouldn't charge for this "authorized language pack", would they? I already paid 1 and 1/3 of a game (which barely lasts 6 months).

Hi everyone i would like to post here some blue answers that ive got so far via e-mail , please vote and comment this thread so we can make this petition faster ! :
Greetings, Unfortunately, at this time there is no option present for language packs or add-ons for Starcraft II - each region has region-specific languages pre-enabled, and the option to swap to another is not currently available. The only way that an English translation would currently be available would be to attach a North American or European license to your Battle.net account and use that to play the game in English. A Battle.net account can have more than one region-license of Starcraft II attached. This way, you would be able to play an English single player, for example, and still be able to log into your home-region license to play with friends. As a fellow Starcraft II fan and player, I do understand that this is something that is receiving a lot of attention on our community sites and forums. It is something that many players would like to see implemented in the game. Unfortunately, the Customer Support Department will be unable to assist in actualizing this change. The best recommendation that I can offer is to post your thoughts and ideas either in highly active (on-topic) threads, or new threads on our community forum. This way, the development team will be able to see how important such a change would be to our player-base. If you would like to make a post on our forums, please navigate over to: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/ and log in using your Starcraft II account. Additionally, if you have an UNLIMITED license copy of Starcraft II for your region, we may be able to offer a region swap to another region/language. Please keep in mind that such an operation will destroy your previous region's profile, and you will need to start over in the new region. Please also keep in mind that we may not be able to offer this service in all cases. If this possibility is something that interests you, please send an e-mail to Billing@Blizzard.com, subject: “ATTN: Region Swap” including the name of your Battle.net account, your current region, and your desired region. We will be more than happy to evaluate your case and respond with the possibility of such a swap. I do apologize that there is not more that I can do for you in this issue, personally. I can assure you, though, that if you do post your thoughts on this issue in a rational and constructive manner on our forums, that they will be read and considered by our development team - even though you may not receive a personal reply on your feedback from them. I do appreciate you taking the time to contact us, and hope to see you in game.
( translated from spanish) "...we understand your point of view , however keep in mind that this game was designed and planned this way even before it was released for sales, the announce of that each region would be separated from the others was also announced. Normally we offer one sole exception to swap regions between LA and USA , sadly this offer only apllies to unlimited edition versions and not to the limited licence version you purchased, any further questions could be answered via mail ..."
Unfortunately, at this time we have not announced any language packs for Starcraft II as we had for World of Warcraft. However, I would like to invite you to our Starcraft II forums http://us.battle.net as a great channel to voice your opinions of the game, and any recommendations -- including the language packs, that you would like to see. If you have additional questions or concerns, please reply to this email. If you would rather speak with a representative directly, please contact Account & Technical Services. Not really. I have both, but the game can't have more than one installation on the system, which is just awful. |

C'mon Blizzard. Should not be to hard to release a simple language option for us on LA. Keep the region lock if you must, I dont really care. But not having a english release for me to play with my friends in Brazil, is a serious let down. We'd like to think that you cared more for your customers.

Well, if they intend to do it, and since it gives no unfair advantage whatsoever, I see nothing wrong with posting this link now.
It's still some weird Spanglish at times, but still closer to what we want. http://www.sc2la.com/foro/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=433&hilit=hotkeys |
