StarCraft® II

Blizzard is now DELETING maps forever

This is just madness. The whole mapping community for Starcraft II is a mess right now. I'm only hoping that Blizzard can fix their mistakes.

Hmm, this action is more like from an individual from a single department IN blizzard, rather than a action that went through some planning.

Most likely, something came up in the real world regarding the map, and whoever in that department, must have had a "situation" where they deleted the map out of spite for their personal justice/reason?

Overreacting GMs or something?

Unless of course, it's their stupid chain of command system where the higher ups don't give these things any thought, and just allowed the person (GM) to carry the actions.

Of course, deletion of such map, has to be done by a individual, and must be from that individual's own judgement.

Did anyone bothering to mention map publication access in this anyways?

Redneck is historically a derogatory slang term to refer to poor white Southern farmers in the United States.

I'm pretty sure that would've been the reason.

I was wondering what happened to that map, I was playing it for hours one night and then next morning it was POOF, gone. Not sure what was so bad about it, was fun too :/.

I'd laugh if indeed it is.

Eh, I don't find it offensive, but I'm sure *someone* would... :-\

Honestly in this day and age people get offended by the smallest thing... But if i am not mistaken SC2 is rated Teen... and that allows to have minimal swearing...

"Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language."

Suprised noone has brought this point up yet. When a Zealot kills any Terran infantry unit, they get CUT IN HALF. Body parts flying everywhere, top half sliding off the bottom first Resident Evil style, the whole bag. But 'redneck' and 'ass' are worthy of deleting a map? That's like saying you can %!@*slap the preacher in Sunday mass as long as you don't stroke his shaft.

You must have missed a meeting. It's been like that forever. Violence can go so very far.

Especially since the word "ass" is in one of the marine's responses, and if the scv and hellion aren't rednecks, I don't know who is.

Blizzard should really chill out. They don't need to make a T game's online content rated E. That's what all those "online experience/content may vary from the rating the game has" disclaimers are for.

Some stuff needs to be banned, but not receiving some kind of cease and desist first is ridiculous.

stuff that is bad needs to be banned. the game that was banned has a level in it that was called the "kick ass" level or something. if thats why it was banned then theres a whole lot of blizz designed content that needs to be to.

So, that's it? People spend one month making a map, one year to make it popular, and Blizzard removes it forever in 1 minute? Mapsters will get mad.

nonono, you have it all wrong. It's not removed forever. They're going to put a blizzard logo on it and sell it as a premium map.

Be careful now. You might have uncovered the truth to this problem :O they might silence you

You guys have to remember that this isn't the same Blizzard as before this is ACTIVISION Blizzard. So yea, expect Activision's douchebaggery to surface in the coming months.

just watch. activision will sweep into the forums and have al the treads deleted and people banned that they dont like.

I appreciate blizzards efforts to keep the games clean and free of vulgarity, but I agree that there should be at least a 48 hour warning that you must either re upload a non-vulgar version of the map or it will be deleted.

I don't appreciate it, except in the extreme cases of "porn maps" and the like. People will swear and say vulgar things themselves, so who cares if your map has a swear word here or there. They should stop trying to morally police the custom games (if this is really what is going on) and instead slap a disclaimer (online experience may vary) on.

Woah woah wait a minute, you mean to tell me, that Blizzard deleted a map because it had a few "vulgar" words? If that's the case they should delete over half of the video cut scenes seeing as quiet a few of them have "vulgar" words.
