Blizzard is now DELETING maps forever

for those guys who like to play the devil's advocate and post the installing agreements, i'd like to point out that it really doesn't matter if we read them or not, since we bought the game and wasted our money, we really can't go back to the store and say "i didn't agree to the terms so i'm returning this game".

Furthermore, just because we are pretty much forced to agree with that bullsh*t, doesn't mean its fair. It's crap like that that pushes people to crack games.

I would much rather play on a cracked version of sc that allowed hostable maps without publishing and offline play than to play on an official server as messed up as it is now.

"Game experience may change during online play". It's there for a reason.

You do realize what that means right? That pertains SOLELY to lag/cheats/etc. Nothing to do with user content.

Is it just me or is B.NET 2.0 getting worse as the days pass?

Blizzard is ruining itself with this system. The only maps that should be banned should be prank porn maps disguised as family-friendly maps. That, or Blizzard should just use an optional adult content filter and let us continue to use the words "badass" and "suicide" in peace.

Owning the software does mean they don't have to tell you anything if they don't want to, yeah, but the very existence of their forums implies a desire to relate to their customers. sure they don't *have* to tell you why the map was inappropriate. But technically McDonald's doesn't have to make your burger without pickles.

I don't see how it would be an encumbrance for them to send a one line explanation.

Dude i loved your map and i think its crap that they deleted it. I don't think its cause of the word "badass" especially since one of the first sentences spoke in the campaign is "Keep your asses clean". lets hope blizzard answers you soon.

If they have a problem with vulgarity why not make it rated M and not restrict things I wouldnt care either way personally

Why not just move flagged maps to a "mature" map category that has to be turned on in Parental Controls or something? That way those who do not want themselves or their children subject to such horrendous words as "ass" can simply choose not to opt in to displaying those maps on the list.

dude

Are their any assets in the map that are from other games?

If so that could by why, if not...well then I think blizz should clarify why it was removed.

Viva la copyright lawsuits!

uh once you post a map made by THEIR software and on THEIR servers they own it! read the TOS

Whats with this retarded language filter and kid friendly crap? The old SC and WC3's systems were great. Although I do like the maps being sorted and stuff so there's no DOTA spam, the rest of this crap just pisses me off. It's ridiculous. Did Blizzard suddenly turn more kid friendly than Nintendo? Why is SHlT censored when Warfield yells "SHlT" when he was shot? Why is BlTCH censored when Warfield said "You magnificent son of aBlTCH" to Raynor? What the *@@% is wrong with you Blizzard, can't you for once just tell Activision to shut the *@@% up and let you do what you know is best for your community? I know you're better than this.

"You understand that the content required to create or modify STARCRAFT® IIModified Maps (as defined below) is included in the STARCRAFT® II game client, and that all such content is owned by Blizzard and governed by this Agreement. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT ALL MAPS, LEVELS AND OTHER CONTENT CREATED OR MODIFIED USING THE MAP EDITOR (COLLECTIVELY, “MODIFIED MAPS”) ARE AND SHALL REMAIN THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY OF BLIZZARD. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, YOU HERE BY ASSIGN TO BLIZZARD ALL OF YOUR RIGHTS, TITLE AND INTEREST IN AND TO ALL MODIFIED MAPS, AND AGREE THAT YOU WILL EXECUTE FUTURE ASSIGNMENTS PROMPTLY UPON RECEIVING SUCH A REQUEST FROM BLIZZARD." The long and the short of it is this...we agreed to these terms when we installed the map editor, whether or not we chose to read them.

We can agree to w/e, and they can do w/e they want. The problem here is the community moral and our egos. Crush enough of them, and after the hype has ended and adrenaline runs out for this game people will leave and sc2 will be another pc game blunder.

Essentially, you'd think a company would police a game for 2 reasons, to keep players from being discouraged in any way to play the game and legal limits. It's turning into neo-internet-@*@!sm

WELL SINCE EVERYONE ELSE IS DOIN' IT, MIGHT AS WELL BE A KOOL KID RITE?

Honestly, if you're wanting to be more broad to kids, take away the blood, cussing in campaign, Kerrigans sexy skintight armor/clothing thing, half the sayings of the units, and make the Zerglings furry little creatures that shoot rainbows out of their eyes.
Actually, scratch the zerglings of love, take away the Zerg completely, they might give kids nightmares. Oh, and the scary voice of the Archon..and the gunfire, oh, can't forget the zombies! The explosions might give people seizures, oh and while we're at it, let's just rip the balls out off of Science Fiction completely!

Afterall, you DO want to ban inappropriate content, right?
