Laptop for university and with friends

I am looking for a computer for university next year as well as for playing Starcraft 2 at my friends' homes and can not decide between the ASUS G71GX-RX05 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220707 and the ASUS G72GX-RBBX05 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220733.

The main differences are the G72GX has a higher resolution, Windows 7, and a backlit keyboard for $55 dollars more. I am on a budget as I have to pay for school next year.

What would you recommend for my situation?

Also if you know of any similarily priced laptops from Canadian retailers that could also rival these it would be greatly appreciated (doesn't matter if it is refurbished or not as these are refurbished).

Personally I don't really care much for the higher resolution as the G71GX seems large enough.
But if you plan on using the G72GX for a very long time, $55 more isn't too bad for something a little more convenient in the long run.

The only problem about g71 is that it's vista, buying windows7 home premium is probably another $200 ($100 if you upgrade from older, genuine windows), g72 you get windows7 for $55 more so it seems like a good trade-off.

I'd get g72, another $55 isn't bad for the next few years of convenience with w7 and slightly higher resolution.
