For a while I've had this idea of a zerg unit called "The Palezike". This beloved pet of kerrigan has not yet taken a true form in the creep flows of my zergy mind, but in time it shall. Recently I've been considering whether or not to give this honor to the infestor, the 7th wonder of the zerg:
Befouler: The Infestor Gains an attack, where it just claws with its claws. It only attacks ground. Its ability set changes, too. I was thinking about some.
The Palezike would differ from the Befouler in that it would be completely tank heavy. I think a good ability for this beast would be a charge attack similar to the burrow charge ability. With each charge the Palezike would be able to leave a trail of spikes in it's wake. Another ability I've been debating on implementing is an ability similar to fungal growth, castable on death. As a frontline unit, these creatures would tend to die often, therefore I believe they should cast this on death. All of the units that were by the Palizike on death impact will recieve a buff. Spikes will grow on all of the units on the very first row of the zerg army accompanying the Palezike. This will make 1st tier armies even more deadly, resulting in better flanking for the zerg prongs. The effects would not wear off in the course of the match.
Besides my infestor dream mutation, I dreamed of this unit as a hydralisk mutation. Two (or three XD) hydrlisks would enter an embryonic conjoinment in order to become more powerful. My thought for an ability this monstrosity would have pertained to the beautiful kodo beast in Wc3. This unit could swallow 1 unit but it would digest the unit into a putty which could be expelled from the belly. Once digested, the resulting chyme could be spit upon units like roaches to form a solidified hook so they could hitch a ride on fast units :D. Totally ridiculous yet so pretty??? The second ability this thing would have would be a ram ability, not to be mistaken with a charge. As these units are moving fast, they would be able to ram into teran balls and hit a few unit behind the first resulting victims with a stab of spikes. Therefore the queen of blade would be proud to pet one of these beasts on the tough crown of their beastly head.

^ cool ideas. They could work, but the Infestor would be OP.
Your Hydra fusion idea gave me an idea:
3 Hydras fuse together to become a stationary structure permanently. It has 300 hp and 2 armor. It shoots spines at a rate of 3 per 0.7 sec. It boasts 8 range.
It would be useful for setting up a defense quickly on the front lines.
Threats of violence. We take these seriously and will alert the proper authorities.
