Hi, i just installed SC 2 to a new laptop, and it won't let me play single player after i log in.
the single player buttons is grayed out so clicking on it is useless, and i can't continue my saved games on my account.

I had adjusted some video settings that required a reboot of the game. When is it was done rebooting the single player was available and i was about to continue where i left off but before i could it kicked me out of the screen and the single player was grayed out again and i couldn't do anything.

anyone have an idea?

I am having the EXACT same problem you're having. I can access multiplayer mode but it won't let me search for or join games, and I can't even click on single-player either. It also says achievements are disabled for me. Hopefully somebody knows whats going on, this recent patch totally messed things up

similar problem for me. beginning this morning, after i logged in, the single player tab, the find match button and the join game button are grayed out. i could not press them. please help.

Same here. I don't know about the achievements, but when I mouse over the dimmed out buttons, it says that I cannot press it while downloading. I am not downloading though. Does anyone else have that as the cause?

I signed in today and first thing i saw was updated terms of use. I said okay, and then i wasn't able to play single player and join multiplayer games as well.

Logged out and back in and it seems to all be working now, weird.

Yeah, I saw the updated terms of use too. Unfortunately, logging out and back in didn't solve my issue.

this started happening for me soon as i logged out after i ok'ed the updated terms of agreement. reinstallation of the game did not solve the problem. a solution for me is to quickly enter into the campaign right after opening the game (before the single player tab grays out). after playing a campaign game, i was able to play a multiplayer game. its a lot of hassle to do this. please help.

One other thing I've noticed: Several maps say that the SC2 Starter Edition can use them, but I've never seen those before. Is this from patch 1.3.6, or is my edition somehow being confused for a starter one? (Or something else of course)

It's set correctly: I synchronised it (To time.windows.com) just to be safe. Unfortunately the problem's still there.

Exact same problem for me. I've noticed the battle.net patching tool pops up from time to time after killing sc2.exe. Could it be that my firewall blocked part of the recent patch (that hosed everything)? I did get a pop-up saying that my firewall had blocked sc2.exe, but I've fixed it with full permissions now...

Also, I tried the trick of launching campaign asap... It said something like it was reverting to an older version due to my campaign save? After finishing a level, I left campaign, and again it became greyed out.

I tried the trick, it simply didn't work for me. I didn't play a game though, I simply skipped through a cutscene and then left from the Hyperion screen.

anyone else try uninstall/reinstall? I neeeeeed SC2 up and running tonight, so I have something to do for the next few days... Knee surgery tomorrow morning, need something to keep me from killing myself while stuck in bed.

It sure would be nice if we were offered some advice or an explanation for this bug. The game logs me in, yet it STILL is completely unplayable. I can't start a ladder game or continue single-player campaign. I've run the game in administrator mode and still NOTHING.

Does anybody know why the game client is running so terribly as of late? Some people must be having no problems cause my friends are in-games right now, yet I'm still sitting here with no solution. Did the latest patch mess up my game somehow?

I think it must have, if several of us are having the same problem and decided to report it on the forums. Most SC2 users never use the forums so presumably we're not the only ones.

I am having the EXACT same problem. This sucks because I REALLY dont have to have sex with my fiancee but now I'll have no choice but to go to bed. :( :(
