My Editor Console will not work on the (fairly up-to-date) operating system I am running on my Imac (OS X Snow Leopard). The Exact error message is as follows:
"StarCraft II Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure StarCraft II Editor works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OS X. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple." Up until just this moment I've always just clicked, "Ignore". I'm not sure reporting this to apple will solve the problem. It gave me no detailed technical information when I clicked, "Report", it instead reiterated the above message and gave me the option to report or cancel. I canceled the process. From this line of text, "Check with the developer to make sure StarCraft II Editor works with this version of Mac OS X." it seemed to believe the problem may lie with the version of OS X, Snow Leopard, that I am running, and this may be correct, but this is a relatively new operating system, (as of 2009, almost exactly eleven months before the WoL release), I think that blizzard should make at least some effort to keep the Editors of those who may not have and may not be willing to upgrade to OS X Lion, the newest major OS release on Apple's part. There is one other detail: I upgraded to Snow Leopard only a month or two ago, and had start up the Editor once before I Upgraded, I (Being slightly intimidated by the very game-engine-like complex interface) shut it down after a few moments of not understanding how to work it. The first time I had run it since the upgrade, I have been experiencing the problem subject of this post. I feel it strange that the Editor worked on a previous version of OS X, but not here. Blizzard, please recognize my problem and work against it. I want to make some maps sometime soon and this is a real splinter in my plans. Thank you all for any responses, and if anyone happens to be experiencing the same or a similar issue, please request a sticky. Thank you again. |

Can you post your system information so we can have a better look.
1. Hold the "Option" Key and choose "System Profiler/Information" from the Apple Menu. 2. Copy the information from the following sections: Hardware (remove the Serial Number line) Graphics/Displays Software (remove the Computer Name and User Name lines) Also, have you've tried repairing your SC2 permissions and running a repair to make sure it's not corrupted and that it has the proper permissions to run? Reset the permissions on your Starcraft II folder:
2. Press Command + I 3. In the Info box, go to the Sharing & Permissions section and click on the lock and unlock it, entering your admin password when prompted. 4. Make sure you have Read & Write permissions 5. Click on the Burst icon (cog wheel) and select Apply to enclosed items You can run the repair tool from the Support folder located in /Applications/Starcraft II/. ________________________________________________ Mac Tech Support for Baaaaahlizzard Entertainment || Fri-Tue 1:45 pm - 10:45 pm CST http://www.surveymk.com/s/RF8K3KG ---- Rate my Baaaaalue Posts.
