Hey guys, even a terran player myself would love to see hydralisk get buff. I don't think I have ever see them in the progaming scene, other than July vs MC, that hydralisk drop?

Post here and vote and hope blizzard will listen.

Of course you dont mind, hydralisk are useless vs Terran. I think muta dmg should be changed to 9 + 9 vs bio. Yeah. good change! oh no my zealots and templars!

theyve shown up a couple of times with guys like idra droping a nydus in the back of a base then they come out and kill like a whole base before the oppenent can pull back and deal with it, but like the only time they work is when they are used in a really risky play like a nydus hydra all in or something because they are so hard countered by collo and tanksand require such an investment to get, there's a very small window where they can actually be useful under very high risk situations that entail defeat if they fail.

something needs to be done about hydras, but its just so touchy because if hydras were a T1 units theyd be unbelievably op against ptotoss because they totally own gw units without collo/ ht support or tc upgrades (charge and blink) but on the flip side any one of those things totally owns hydras once they come, which can easily be obtained by the time hydras come out. as for TvZ hydras are like marines but hugely more terrible in every way slower, more expensive, less dps, and marines are a mineral dump. marines also happen to do a kind of stupid amount of damage but i guess thats not op some how, especially considering they are a mineral dump and synergize so well with medivacs, where i wouldnt say anything in the zerg army really "synergizes" with anything else except maybe infesters

I totally agree hydras are very touchy to change.. But it is blizzard's job to fix that right?? They have just been avoiding doing any changes.

well, hydras are ok, not very good, but probably not buff worthy.

Allow them to move while burrowed. That way their high DPS can be put to use in ambushes. It wouldn't be OP because their HP is low enough to be killed quickly.

Which is why Blizz hasn't bothered to figure out a way to effectively buff them. Almost any reasonable buff that makes them more useful in other situations would completely break them against Protoss.

They were good in Brood War, yet Protoss players had no problem winning, even without defensive spells like Guardian Shield or Force Fields. Yeah, if Zerg had decent units, you might not be able to simply a-move your army and faceroll them through force concentration. People are too used to Zerg being the "punching-bag" race that you can just faceroll because their units aren't cost effective and don't work well together. Hydras have a number of forces working against which act as force multipliers for the opposing army. They have 50% less health per supply compared to Brood War Hydras, theyr'e slow off of creep, they have no defensive spells to protect them, they don't have strength in numbers, and they can't morph into Lurkers. Sometimes putting Roaches in front of them works, but not against air or long range units like Tanks or the Colololololosus.

Hydras are just poorly designed. Before they can be buffed their damage has to be specialized. Either anti-armored, or anti-light. Even anti-bio or anti-mechanical would work. Just something to set hard counters for hydras and a direction.

Too many zerg units right now deal untyped damage, which means that only having superior range beats them. Give hydras something to make them better against colossus with no nerfs, and they likely could roll over everything.

I think hydralisks are meant to be a joke unit, except in some very specific zvz scenarios. (mirror matchup, big surprise) I firmly believe that Blizzard just put them into sc2 for nostalgia. I'm not sure if you are supposed to ever actually make them in serious games.

Hydras definitely need something, and since they are 2 food, I would agree with the route of specialization. Or even just making them cost more and do more. (125-150 mins)
But as a unit, they are very boring, and have no specific purpose except anti air.

I've repeated it so many times... remove the light attribute on Hydras!

This makes it so they can hard counter Marauder/Hellion play, not die so fast to Hellions or Ghosts in general, tank hits from Banelings better, and be a much better counter to early Phoenix play, without buffing them in anyway that would overly effect ZvP and give Zerg an unstoppable Hydra timing.

I do not think it would fix Hydras completely, but it would help a lot, and give them more situations in which they would be useful.

As much as I love the old hydras and not a fan of the new ones I think it would be hard to balance them correctly.......... And just because Blizz listened to people kick and scream about the infestor don't think they change the hydra just because you made a petition

It's 100/50 for a unit that has barely 33% more HP and DPS than a marine. They actually straight up lose to even an equal resource investment of pure marauders.

T1 hydras would be fine as long as the range upgrade remained T2, then stalkers could easily kite them.

Na... roach hydra would steam roll us perty fast as toss. Or at least force us onto one base as they expand and win... Roaches will soak up the dmg as the hdyra in the back take out gateway and robo units unless the toss gets a fast coloi.

I think a better idea would be a T3 upgrade instead. T2 for range and T3 for health +20? 200/200 cost. As for speed... they only seem slow cus the rest of your army moves really fast (same speed as Terran's marines) unlike the Ht that actually does move super slow.

Nerf infestores engery as they wont be as needed with the boosted hydras.

Stalkers kite slow-roaches even easier than 5 range hydras.

Unfortunately, Hydras right not aren't military units. At best, they could be considered guerilla warfare units, except they're so slow. You're giving your opponent the upper hard when you make Hydras, unless your opponent is Zerg and doesn't know how to make Banelings or Roaches.

I like the idea of a bonus against mechanical units. Since there are so many mechanical units that would give them a T2-worthy status. Only problem is I wouldn't want it to do any more damage to stalkers, which a hydra army handles decently well as is.

A move speed upgrade would be really nice. or just make them as fast as upgraded roaches. They are just tooo damn slow. I'd take faster hydras even if they did less damage.

blizzard just remove the hydra
and introduce better units than that worthless pile of crap
blink stalkers are 10 times better than hydras and they only cost 25 more minerals
