It's become frustrating ignoring this very specific drop bug. I would estimate it drops players 20-25% of the time I play a map it affects, sometimes none, sometimes half.
- We know it has something to do with custom dependencies. - We know it randomly (or is it?) drops different players. - We know it happens directly after loading. I've heard it happens in multiple maps, but I've confirmed it in three maps personally, with the above being true in all maps: Trifaction - This game very hard to show to new players because it keeps dropping people on their first tries. 12 Kingdoms - Not public WW2 Diplo Is every map with custom dependencies experiencing this issue? I would really love some feedback here. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER?! |

Alright, myself and another person just did a test and what we discovered is that this is infact 100% Blizzards fault.
1. I uploaded a blank map 2. I uploaded a blank mod and set it as a dependancy for the blank map 3. We loaded the map and waited for 4 minutes in lobby 4. GOT INSTANT DROPPED What more proof do you need Blizzard? |
So it happens in any map with a custom dependency, is what you're saying? ________________________________________________ The Chat Gem Lives! Diablo III Analyst for Pro Team Evil Geniuses Fansite Administrator of SC2Mapster and SC2Replayed |

Yup per my understanding as well. The custom dependencies are somehow related. |

Maybe its network side? Like the custom dependency is causing an error that forces the server to close session in order to prevent malfunction?
If you can try it again with players who all have good internet connections (make them do speed test), and have good computers. If it still drops them then maybe look at your firewalls? Because its dropping players it's gotta be an issue with either the server the game is hosted on or the connection |
It's been around for quite a long time, too. Patch 1.3.0 I think. I'm not going to stop bumping this thread until it gets addressed/fixed because this is a HUGE issue and its honestly embaressing for Blizzard imo. |

WW2 Diplo isn't using a custom dependency yet.
I have yet to notice many drop issues with it (besides the lobby delay bug). However it also could be your banks. Banks have been known to occasionally drop players (especially new players). IDK if trifaction is using banks or not but WW2 Diplo had less issues when the banks were removed. |

Read the Tests i did please

WW2 Diplo isn't using a custom dependency yet. Those custom tank models you built aren't in a mod? We have a big release coming by christmas and it is affected by this bug as well. (no bank files btw). It's silly how we've been guessing about this for so long now. I was in a lobby yesterday, everyone left because someone mentioned that staying in the lobby too long causes drops!?!!? That's the kind of stuff that's happening. I was in another lobby the day before yesterday that the host refused to start until everyone relogged in to "prevent drops". |

I've had this issue with my newer maps, but for completely different reasons. I uploaded my newest map just two days ago, and every time I host it, if I'm in the lobby for more than about two minutes before the game starts, I drop when the game starts. If I leave the lobby, get reinvited, and then the game immediately starts, I usually don't drop.
No, I'm not using any custom dependencies, but it gets annoying to have to do that every time I want to test/play my new map for about three? weeks after I publish a it (my first three didn't have this issue; it started with my fourth map). Really, this issue should be fixed. It's problematic for me, and most of my maps aren't even designed for the majority of players. It scares me, trying to think of how badly custom maps would probably die if every map on the first few pages had this problem. |

If its happening on maps without dependencies, then obviously this is not the issue. It is sounding more and more like its something server side causing people to drop. Is it 4 minutes for every map or does the time differ?

Alright, myself and another person just did a test and what we discovered is that this is infact 100% Blizzards fault. btw, have you tried doing this without any dependencies in the blank map? |
