So, like pretty much everyone else with a Mac computer, I join every game at least 4 seconds late. This is frustrating, but I can deal with starting at a disadvantage that small.
Except if I leave the client open for more than about 2 minutes and come back, the problem gets much, much worse. I don't understand why this should be happening unless there is some kind of memory leak, but it definitely is, and I can make a video or something if you really want me to. As I wait longer between games, the delays increase in three (3) places. The first is the delay between the end of the countdown timer and when you see the loading screen. This can take upwards of one minute if I left the client idling for more than about 10 minutes between games. I'm serious. The second place it gets slower is between seeing the loading screen and having the loading bar actually start to move. This can also take upwards of one minute depending on how long it's been since I last played a game. The last place where the delay increases is the amount of in-game time that passes while I haven't fully loaded the game to the point where I can make actions. I waited 21 minutes between my second most recent game and my most recent game, and I only "joined" the game at the 14 second mark. This is incredibly, incredibly frustrating to have to deal with when you are decent at the game, for reasons that I hope are obvious. This problem has existed since two patches ago (1.4). I've dealt with this !@#$ for months and waited for a fix that hasn't come. Your client is broken, and you need to fix it. My specs: iMac 7,1 10.6.8 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GB RAM ATI Radeon HD2600 I play on the lowest possible graphics settings. |

I think there is 2 different issues at hand here.
The delay at the start of the game is different issue, and that is being investigated. The performance issue is something the team is working on, and have made some changes in the next update to see if this addresses the issue. No ETA on when the next update is, but I will post back when I know more. Most times there is a PTR before hand so we can test the changes there and provide feedback. I'll post when I know that information as well. ________________________________________________ Mac Tech Support for Baaaaahlizzard Entertainment Not finding what you need here?
