Topic New Dell computer, now zoomed in too far

Hello, I bought Starcraft 2 some time ago and have since played on a laptop (Windows Vista, sorry don't remember much else about it), I have recently aquired a much better Dell Inspiron Desktop with Radeon HD 4200 graphics and upon installing Starcraft 2 (And another similar third person perspective title named "League of Legends") have noticed a very odd problem that does not seem to make sense. The game is zoomed in WAY too far. I do not mean like the normal zoomed in where you can zoom out, it pasts the boundries and fills half the screen with the nexus and makes everything disproportionate to what they should be sized (Probes being much to large, or at least it looks like it). I have tried everything possible from what I know (Changing res for everything, zooming out with pg buttons/scroll button, looking on every concievable website related to gaming) and haven't come up with anything. This also happens in another third person game named "League of Legends" I do not find this to be a coincidence. If anyone knows of this problem please reply, I very much so want to play my favorite games again but the zoom in makes it very difficult to play without going crazy. Now, if you require confirmation about the zoom level I can show you video or screenshots, compare them to any regular gaming footage/shots and you will see what I am talking about. Thank you.

Sorry, your wall of text is a bit blinding.

Change your desktop and game resolution to your monitor's native resolution.

zKrieg, I have also tried that before but nothing came from it. Thank you though.

Is it a possiblity that my monitor is the problem? My monitor is not new at all and still uses the old VGA blue cable. (Is it VGA? I don't remember if that was the name or not but it isn't DVI or HDMI)

oh, also, this doesn't happen on the menu or if I am in the capital ship in the campaign. It is only when I am controlling units in the battle.

I found a solution to this problem. What Sixinthehood and I had in common is that we were both using old monitors that weren't wide screen on our new computers. In order to avoid having the zoomed in problem you have to adjust the in-game resolution to match the proper aspect ratio.

To do this simply change your in-game resolution to a 16:9 ratio setting.

I adjusted my resolution to 1600x900 and it fixed the problem. One thing about this though is that you have the black bars on top and bottom of your screen to compensate for not having a wide screen monitor. It's either doing this or buying a new wide screen monitor. GL HF
