Topic Mission timer not appearing in campaign

I just completed a couple campaign missions that normally display a timer in the upper right, specifically Zero Hour and Outbreak. Neither of these two missions displayed the timer. There was a green box where the timer would normally be, but it was empty.

The timed events and announcements about upcoming events ("Daybreak in 30 seconds," etc) worked fine.

I'm currently running on a Core i7-2600 with 8 GB RAM, an Nvidia GTX 580 graphics card, and Windows 7.
