Topic Server Time integration in Custom Games

Hi, I'm on the development team for the US version of Marine Arena, and for an upcoming feature that I'm working on, I thought it would be really cool to have some way to check the date and time of the Blizzard server.

Map developers could use this for things like:
- Double XP weekends
- Daily/Weekly quests
- Holiday events
- So many more possibilities

I would use this feature in Marine Arena, and I'm sure many other content developers would do the same.

Can't do it. But you could update the map each weekend/holiday. That would probably hurt more than it would help, though.

They probably wouldn't allow it as a mapper could just ping spam them or something.

This of course being the very weak devil's advocate for Blizzard.

It could easily be limited to prevent that. Like only at a map start up, once every X minutes, etc.

It would be a cool feature. With an option like that, maps could be made with a persistent time element, like consistent day-night cycles and such.

It would have some very interesting uses, I'd certainly welcome it if Blizzard decided to add in server time.

I support this idea.
